I don't really think that hating someone for a spotty past of not-so-good writing is appropriate. I feel like I am one of the few people in the Tokusatsu Community who doesn't hate Kamen Rider Ghost.
I mean, Suzanne Collins wrote both "The Underland Chronicles" and "The Hunger Games" and you can tell how she improved a bit. At least she didn't leave as many plot holes and didn't leave as many loose plot threads at the end of "The Hunger Games" series as "The Underland Chronicles" (or at least, that's what I think. I haven't read "The Hunger Games" but I have listened to "The Underland Chronicles"). Anyways, Toshiki Inoue hasn't been the Main writer on Super Sentai since Jetman, he did write Episode 28 of Gokaiger, which was a Tribute Episode to Jetman. He also wrote all but Episodes 17 and 18 of Kamen Rider Kiva. Also, he wrote Kamen Rider ? Kamen Rider OOO & W feat. Skull: Movie War Core, the crossover movie of W and OOO, and Kamen Rider OOO: Nobunaga's Desire. So, we can't exactly complain. Anyways, saying that something will be bad because of the writer had a shakey writing history could work the opposite way around. One of the directors who directed the Harry Potter Movies also directed Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief, and we all see how that went. Especially since I think there's a whole lot of mixed opinion on a few of the examples you gave, Kiva and Movie War Core (I think, anyway. Haven't seen much of OOO yet.) So people can definitely complain if they want lol. Besides, I think the pervasive feeling of, "Oh shit, what's he gonna do next?" adds to the interest factor, whether you're looking forward to his writing or not. |

Just goes to show that people will never let anyone forget about something someone did 20 years ago, good or bad. We are in a deluge of information and history and it has created some very strange reactions.

I thought I was hardcore into tokusatsu, but... how do you know off by heart who the main writer of all these Kamen Rider shows are?! I remember Yasuko Kobayashi did Ryuki(which I didn't mind the Rider Time by the way), and Inoue was apparently a bit big in Kiva, but I don't think I do analyse production aspects of toku to that degree funnily enough!

sees Inoue is at the helm. this show is gonna be weird and it's either going to be a show that revolutionizes the Toku Genre or a complete grade A shitshow and there is going to be no inbetween

All in all, I don't have any sort of attachment to Inoue's writing since I've only seen Decade and Ryuki from Heisei Phase 1, but the most I can tell is that he likes making protagonists that act like jerks to everyone, but that description in and of itself is most likely false. So long as I enjoy the show on it's own merits, they can get anyone to write it. If anything, I just want the Zenkaiger cast to be faithful in their appearances. On another topic, the visor for MomoBrother looks somewhere between cool (Kamina shades) to just plain goofy, though I do love the gear for the topknot. |

I do not know if anyone has noticed it or not, but the shin-pads on the boots of the rangers seems to be shaped after the playstation d-pad, so it makes me think if there?ll be any video game references or if the story itself will involve video games of some sorts.

This is a bit of a strange thing to say about people having expectations for what a story will be based on the writer's previous work, especially given there are very recent examples that show his writing style is very much the same as it was back in the 2000s

So Kiji Brother. First male pink ranger ever. I guess they took hints from Kamen Rider Jin and testing it out for this franchise. I am imagining him as either Urataros 2.0 or a really cool and soft-spoken type for now. Curious as to who will voice him if they decide to use a puppet or suit actor or cgi.
