Here's the elaboration of the several possibilities: - If Shouma is 19 years old in 2024, then 18 years ago he (Kid Shouma) was only 1 year old, which makes no sense at all since it contradicts his appearance like shown in the flashback scenes. - If Shouma is 21 years old in 2024, then 18 years ago he (Kid Shouma) was only 3 year old, which also makes no sense at all since it contradicts his appearance like shown in the flashback scenes. - If Shouma is 23 years old in 2024, then 18 years ago he (Kid Shouma) was only 5 year old, which also makes no sense at all since it contradicts his appearance like shown in the flashback scenes. - If Shouma is 25 years old in 2024, then 18 years ago he (Kid Shouma) was 7 year old (as old as Kid Shouma's actor's age minus 3), which quite makes sense since it quite fits his appearance like shown in the flashback scenes. - If Shouma is 28 years old in 2024, then 18 years ago he (Kid Shouma) was 10 year old (as old as Kid Shouma's actor's age), which makes perfect sense since it fits his appearance like shown in the flashback scenes. If I was limited to replying to only the posts addressed to me, then my post count would only be a tiny fraction of what it is now.
You typing out "the Granute of the week in episodes 17-18" makes me think that you're actively trying to call him anything but his actual name. "(bird?) Granute" is repetitive to have to read over and over again and doesn't even imply anything about his physical appearance other than maybe looking like a bird. It's unnecessary. Quote:
You make it sound like getting a job is easy, regardless of Granute super strength. There's no point talking about a hypothetical character who isn't socially awkward (almost like he's been locked away from the outside world or something, oh wait, he was), as then we wouldn't be talking about Shouma anymore. This is the setting and characters we've got, so this is what I'm concerned with. Even if Shouma could get a job, that wouldn't bring him happiness. Sachika's main role is to give Shouma happiness, not just jobs. So Sachika is essential for Caking's creation.
Shouma doesn't necessarily need his Granute strength to get a job. Even without using his Granute strength, he could simply use the Gochizous to help him make his job easier. In my post in episode 5 thread here I already elaborated on several different jobs he can choose from, only by relying on all the natural abilities he has right now. No need to rely on Sachika at all. If you say that Shouma can't get a job because he's socially awkward, then how was he able to initiate a friendly help to complete strangers like shown in episode 3 @ 06:14? I also think that Shouma should be socially awkward (or rather: 1000% socially dysfunctional) due to the abusive upbringing by Bouche, but please, please, please Gavv writers & producers, write it in a consistent manner. Don't flip-flop just to make certain plots/scenes happen. Flip-flopping between 2 completely opposite characterization just to make certain plots/scenes happen is peak cheap, lazy, heavy-handed writing. It only makes Shouma look like a person with bipolar personality disorder. Gavv 03 @ 06:14 ![]() Quote:
Regarding Shouma's age, I'm open to the suggestion that he might be slightly older than Chinen, but only slightly, most likely early 20s. 25-28 would be excessive, as that would make him older than 23 year-old Hanto. Unless we consider differences in longevity between humans and Granutes. How old is an old Granute anyway?
"What makes no sense at all is Kid Shouma's age 18 years ago, not the fact that Hanto's mom was alive after being kidnapped by the elusive Wolf Granute. Like I said, if Shouma is now 19 years old (like the actor), then 18 years ago Kid Shouma was only 1 year old. From the flashback scenes it's obvious that Kid Shouma is not a 1 year old kid." Quote:
You don't get to call my points wrong simply by presenting your argument and then immediately shutting down the debate:
"Ah, I've just remembered that this is Gochard's thread, so this should be my last post talking about Gaim here, haha." The lawyer doesn't get to shut down the prosecutor. The case is open. Like I said, I'm willing to present my counterargument, but I'm not interested in debating for the sake of being right. It needs to be constructive and right now, it's clear that you don't want your essay to be challenged. So I won't, but I assure you that I can. And if you call my bluff, then I will. I stopped my response in that thread not only because all your wrong points had been completely refuted, but also because the thread was about KR Gotchard, not KR Gaim. If you want to bring up KR Gaim in a thread not about KR Gaim, then it's your choice. Maybe another member in this forum will respond to you, but I won't. Quote:
Yeah, let's say hello to Kudo Rinne who's intentionally not supposed to be a good heroine since her main role is officially Gotchard's co-protagonist according to Producer Minato. We've already been through this. Why are you still judging her based on irrelevant criteria?
