Hi everyone! Does anyone know of any toku shows that have been dubbed into English? Preferably older ones, like pre-1990?
EDIT: I mean TV shows specifically - I have a whole bunch of movies Don't get me wrong - I've watched a ton of subbed toku, but sometimes I'm just in the mood for something I don't have to read. It's just a different experience, you know? Anyway, any suggestions? The weirder the better. Thanks in advance! Last edited by GreenWithEvil; 04-25-2020 at 12:05 PM.. |

A lot of Power Rangers has been dubbed in other languages (and I think you can change the language audio on Netflix)!
I also remember watching an English-dub of Bioman (1984 Sentai) and a French-dub of Flashman (1986 Sentai). It's been a couple of years, but this might give you an idea. |

There are English dubs of both Ultraman and Ultraseven. Ultraman Tiga got a dub in the 90s, but it was just a gag dub.

Some Ultraman shows have English dubs made in America including the original and one series was dubbed by 4Kids (no, really). I think some Ultraman movies to. I don't know a lot about Ultraman, so that's all I can really say.
Most if not all English dubs of Rider and Sentai have been made in the Philippines. They rarely make their way outside the Philippines though. Most of them that we have are incomplete or just clips and are of shows made in the new millennia (after the ability to share videos on the internet became normal). Most of these have been lost to time. Kamen Rider: The movie Kamen Rider ZO technically has an English dub. I say technically because it was made as a Sega CD game called "The Masked Rider: Kamen Rider ZO." It's a QTE game using the movie as an FMV. As an April Fool joke, TVN took the audio and placed it onto the best quality video at the time (this was like a decade ago). The dub is missing a few scenes because they weren't in the game, but it's very watchable. The only Kamen Rider series to have a complete enough English dub online is Kabuto. Every episode is dubbed, but few scenes were cut. YoY-Earthly made a scrub release that includes the dub as an alternate audio track and a subtitle track that only subs the cut scenes from the dub. Other series that I've seen dubbed clips of are Den-O, Decade, and OOO. Fourze has an incomplete dub on the OZC release that doesn't start until episode 34 (they missed the other episodes sadly). All of these use the same dub cast as Kabuto. Sentai: The one Sentai that I know has a complete English dub on the internet somewhere is Bioman. I think there's some minor details changed, but overall seems like a solid dub, especially for being made in the 80's. Might want to go looking for that. I've seen it all on YouTube before. I believe Gorenger and/or Battle Fever J (I can't remember which) has a mostly complete dub out there, but it's been a long time since I saw any signs of them. There's also the parody dub of Dynaman. I'm only mentioning it because it happens to be legally streaming in America (seriously) on Night Flight Plus and VRV. It was made in the 80's during the early days of cable for the USA Network. It doesn't try to be a proper dub at all. It just makes fun of the show. That said, it's only 6 episodes and it's very quotable. In fact, I half expect Paladin to pop into the thread just to remind us who can save the world. Basically it can be hard to find in the West, but English dubs do exists and there's probably more English dubs out there from Asian countries like Hong Kong and Malaysia that we just don't know about, much less have access to. |

Y'all, this is awesome, I was definitely not expecting so many responses so quickly. Thanks a lot!
Any other awesome suggestions? I think I'll put together an English dub database with everyone's picks. Thanks again! |

Guys, someone just recovered and preserved Kamen Rider Wizard's dub in it's entirety! This was dubbed and aired in Singapore. I dont think I've seen an entire Kamen Rider series dubbed before, so this is amazing.
