A variety of new images from the upcoming new Ultra project have surfaced online. In addition to a better look at the new suit and hero, we also have some new plot details.
The new lead is a 17-year-old young man named Hikaru who uses the "Ginga Spark" to transform and reawaken the powers of the lost Ultras, which have been turned into dolls and scattered throughout the universe. This new series is expected to run for 11 episodes and two specials. Tune in July 10th for the premiere of Ultraman Ginga's adventures! |

I really, really hope one of the fansub outfits picks this show up, but I'll watch it raw if I have to. Looks fantastic.

Just 11 episodes? Are they like movie length or anything?

ZOMG why is Ultraman a child!?!?! All Ultramen must be part of a super secret military group that fly planes!!!11!
I imagine the reaction to this news would be something like that. Only 11 episodes? Maybe I'll start somewhere else with Ultraman. Like Nexus or Mebius. PS Ultraseven X was around 11 episodes too.

Ultraseven X was 13 episodes. With the two specials, this will also be 13 episodes.

Why does the "Ginga Spark" look like a spark extractor from Transformers?
And yes, Ultraseven X was 13 eps. Not sure why, but I'm not loving the look of Ginga. Maybe it's to sparkly? |

Yeah, I'd really like to give this a try. I've been putting off trying an Ultra series for too long.

Ultraman Ginga episodes are playing as part of the New Ultraman Retsuden rather than a regular schedule, with gaps between parts of the series and the specials filling in parts of the gaps. I don't think Tsuburaya's been in good enough shape financially to pull off a bigger television debut yet on top of Neo Ultra Q, but if Ginga does very well I don't think those thirteen episodes will be the last of him on television.
Legitimately excited about the series at this point and I've already thrown in a bit of money at the franchise thanks to the Spark Dolls!
