WOW. First SCRTC, and now THEY DROP A LUPAT REFERENCE SAYING UMIKA'S BEST FRIEND IS A MANGA AUTHOR WHOSE BOOK HAPPENS TO HAVE THREE THIEVES WEARING RED, BLUE, AND YELLOW AND IS THE BESTSELLER OF 2020. What's next? Tametomo sponsored by INET? A SGS toolkit? Heck, I would not be surprised if they happen to be eating take-out gyoza by a restaurant that has red dragons drawn on the plastic bag. Or you know what? Have Shiguru pilot a UAOH jet. Whoever is sneaking these references in the show is a genius. Now I want more. MORE! MORE!!! MORE EASTER EGGS!!!!!

So does this mean that Kiramager takes place in the VS universe like Gokaiger and Ninninger and everytime they need to do crossovers?

I love the Baseball Mask reference with the Rugby guy. Byoutiful.
I didn't realize that the manga was written by Umika's friend, though. That's a neat shout out. I think it's rather cute that they're sprinkling these references in. Lemme guess. They'll stumble across a new crystal that actually happens to be a Lai Lai Jewel from Dairanger? Anyway, as for the episode itself, it was...Average, again. The inspiration line is starting to get a little grating. I'm hoping once we introduce Kiramaizin next episode, it won't appear as often. Granted, since I'm not keeping up with the toys beyond the two upcoming auxiliary vehicles, I don't know how often to expect it. At least it's followed by something happening, though. I liked the plot of the episode, and I always enjoy tension in a team, I just wish it could've been handled better. Yellow is shitting on Red nonstop, even when Sena is at fault, so it seemed kind of unfair they made it his dilemma, only to win out in the end by having the real Sena be able to have her cake and eat it. Oh well.

Think about it, Gokaiger was an "Everything Matters" show, and Go-Busters, ToQger, Ninninger, Zyuohger, and Ryusoulger all had elements in which this was echoed either in-show or with a special that can't be dismissed outright (Ryusoulger had "Strongest Battle" and Kyuranger had Gavan and Dekaranger in one episode, but that was defined as a dimension-hopping episode, so the Kyuranger Universe isn't an "Everything Matters" candidate; anything with Kamen Rider Ex-Aid is just marketing and forcing things to go together even if they don't)! By making everything relevant, then these little tidbits can remind people about the elements they used to care about. Sentai has spent years making things go together only if it's relevant to a crossover, which in a sense suggests that Sentai was doing the multiverse thing before most! In today's context, almost every superhero franchise has a multiverse, and it seems as though Sentai wants to dial it back and be more self-referential. |

Didn't Zyuohger end with the normal world and Zyuland merging together?
Kind of hard for Zyuohger to not be considered an alternate universe with an ending like that

Something to consider, to be sure, but since Zyuohger had a two-episode crossover with Gokaiger in a way that was crucial to the Zyuohger storyline, then Zyuohger could be considered a single universe or an "experiment in multiversal deconstruction" at the very least.

Just gonna harp on it one more time: those civilian outfits, if they would just lose the cape it might look better. Just my opinion.
And why is the villain's lair flooded in ankle deep water? Is there a significance to that or is it just because? The MOTW looked straight out of Goranger. It would be cool if each MOTW would look like a monster from a different Sentai. Still feeling that this season would be heavily Red-centric. I don't know just a gut feeling. I liked that Green made the Usain Bolt pointing to the sky part of her roll call since she is a sprinter. It makes sense somehow.

The key to make it fine is if they made the Red Ranger likeable. For example, Zyuohger is a Red-centric season, but Yamato became a fan favorite because of his character. The same goes to Keichiiro (Patren 1) even if Patrangers are side characters. And that's the big worry because right now, Juru is like Right 2.0. And imo Right took me a while to warm up to him and even then he can still irk me over. Juru has to have a strong character arc that will make us like him, to at least forgive the show even if it goes Red-centric.
