Press Release: Quote:
Power Rangers Megaforce introduces a plot line that is sure to captivate audiences with exciting new characters, villains, and high-octane action. The new series features Gosei, a supernatural guardian who for centuries, has protected the earth with his robotic aide, Tensou. But when the evil Warstar aliens begin their massive invasion, Gosei calls upon five teenagers with attitude to form the ultimate team…the Power Rangers Megaforce!
When the teens morph into Power Rangers, they gain superhuman strength, agility, and mastery over martial arts. In addition to defending earth against the Warstar aliens, other monstrous factions emerge to challenge the Megaforce Rangers. Under the leadership of a malevolent alien, toxic beasts rise from their slimy underground lair to attack the Earth and a ruthless robot army launches an offensive from their deep sea compound. In order to face these new threats, the Power Rangers Megaforce unlock powerful battle modes to fight their adversaries. Go Go Power Rangers! – fans can look forward to all new MEGA adventures in 2013. Thought I would start the thread since we now have a glimpse of what we will be getting next year.

Keep the angel theme, for the love of god.
That was one of my favorite parts of Goseiger. |

Reposting this from a thread I made a couple of days ago, but with alterations due to the recent news of Saban not adapting Gokaiger:

This is just a thought/theory that I have in my head right now.
We know that Mega Force will be Goseiger. We also know that Toei has plans to reshoot the Legend War that was in Gokaiger with new footage featuring only the Power Ranger teams and exclusive Power Rangers (i.e., the Titanium Lightspeed Ranger, the Jungle Fury Spirit Rangers). So this has me thinking... Maybe the Legend War will be part of Mega Force as a sort of "anniversary episode" a la "Forever Red" was in Wild Force and "Once a Ranger" was in Operation Overdrive (for better or worse, depending on your view of the two-parter). It'll probably take place during the show, and I even have a crazy fan-speculation story already concocted. The spirit of Zordon contacts the Mega Force Rangers to form a huge army of Power Rangers to fight off the Zangyack Empire, which is headed for Earth. The Mega Force Rangers think they can handle it by themselves at first, but then after they get their asses kicked, they realize they need all Power Rangers, past, present, and future, to defeat this threat. Jason and Tommy suddenly appear as Mighty Morphin' Red and Zeo Ranger V and help out the two, saying that they have a few friends who'll join in in a bit (a.k.a.: every other Power Ranger). And that's where the Legend War reshoot comes in. Cue epic battle of Power Rangers battling the Zangyack's foot soldiers, with all the Red Rangers eventually going after the big bad himself (including the Crimson Thunder Ranger and Wolf Warrior, because hey, if Quantum Ranger is red, Crimson and Wolf count too). However, the Zangyack leader manages to overpower the Reds, but the power of Mega Force Red and Mighty Morphin' Red's finishing moves manage to destroy him, and the Power Rangers are victorious. Oh, and during the episode, Tommy finally tells Eric that his Dragonzord would beat his Quantasaurus Rex any day of the week, a silly nod to the ending of "Forever Red". What do you think? |

Honestly, it's no real loss - the angel thing really never fit with any of the visual elements of the Ranger or mech designs. It can be dropped pretty easily. Personally, my big hope is that we get something to replace the Tensouder as the morphing device. That thing was incredibly stupid. |

That is not even slightly going to happen. No American kids show is ever going to introduce a lot of Judeo-Christian religious elements - not on a non-Christian-oriented tv station. Show like Power Rangers can't even say the word "god" for fear of offending people, you really think they'll make an entire show based around angels?

It's in alot of the promo material. |

Digimon made heavy use of angelic themes as well, including using the word "angel" and variations thereof. The only concession I remember on that show was changing the word "Holy" to "Magna," as in "Holydramon" becoming "Magnadramon."
Angels are not specifically nor strictly Judeo-Christian; like ghosts, demons, devils, and so forth, they are general mythological creatures at this point.
