I am not in the habit of defending Matrixbeast, but his main point is a valid one. We both agree that there's a lot of shows lacking subs, so resubbing a show that already has two complete sets of subs seems a bit pointless.
Everything else Matrixbeast said is him putting his foot in his mouth. For the record, I have nothing but good things to say about GUIS. I consider GUIS to be the best fansub group currently activate. Come to think of it, I have nothing bad to say about Mega Anon either. Last edited by Blade Raider; 01-10-2013 at 03:34 PM.. |

I decided to see where we stand on subs of Sentai by making a list broken down by how many episodes are subbed of said series using the info on page 1. I will not count Dead Fish because they are gone and the subs were not translations in the sightest.
Zero Episodes Subbed: Goranger (0/84) J.A.K.Q. (0/35) Denjiman (0/51) Dynaman (0/51) Total: 4 shows with no subs. Less Than Ten Episodes Subbed: Goggle-V (3/50) Changeman (8/55) Flashman (1/50) Turboranger (2/51) Fiveman (6/48) Kakuranger (4/53) Ohranger (5/48) Total: 7 shows that have yet to break 10. 10 or More Episodes Subbed: Bioman (11/51) Carranger (19/48) GoGoV (13/50) Timeranger (12/51) Hurricaneger (10/51) Abaranger (10/50) Total: 6 shows that are in the teens. Only one is close to 20. 20 or More Episodes Subbed, but Still Unfinished: Maskman (20/51) Megaranger (36/51) Gingaman (35/50) Total: 3 shows are getting close, but still have plenty to go. 100% of the show is Subbed: Battle Fever J (100%, though I'm not sure who subbed it and the video quality is awful) Sun Vulcan (100%) Liveman (100%) Jetman (100%) Zyuranger (100%) Dairanger (100%) Gaoranger (100%) Dekaranger (100%) Magiranger (100%) Boukenger (100%) Go-Onger (100%) Shinkenger (100%) Goseiger (100%) Gokaiger (100%) Gobusters (100% to date) Total: 15 shows are 100% complete. Only 6 pre-Dekaranger series are 100% complete. Looking at the data: You can see that it's not hard to get the subs started. It's getting it far enough along to finish them that's the difficult part. There is a total of 20 series with either unfinished or no subs. Shows that are subbed on a weekly basis while the show is still airing have a much higher completion rate. I hope this list to look different at the end of the year. Keep in mind that if we would've looked at this last year, there would be 3 less pre-Deka shows with complete subs. 2012 was a great year for old Sentai. Maskman, Carranger, GoGoV, and a few others all seem to be going at a good pace. If the pace is kept, they maybe done by the end of the year. |

They weren't? I was under the impression that Dead Fish were fairly decent subs, if a little....erratic in their releases.

OR you can go assist groups like Hikari-Senshi who are in need of timers! And from what I hear are almost complete with GoGoV's translation. |

That out of the way, translating and subbing is not in my skill set as of this time. However, I will look at the timer business. It looks simple and time consuming. |

Yeah, timing doesn't look to be too difficult. It actually looks like something I could do fairly easily. Never thought I'd say that about anything that had to do with fansubs.

Hi there.
Good news: it looks like GrownUpInSpandex join forces with HS to bring Kakuranger on a weekly basis, they hope to keep the same rythm of release as the one of Zyuranger. Everything is better with ninjas. Ep. 1-7 out. |
