So it's that time of year again to get spooked and what better then to read about something that happened to me personally. These aren't lies or fabricated in any way. Here are three ghosts I encountered so far in my life.
- The First one was when I just joined the military. I got an apartment and moved off of the base. Now I know what you're thinking "the apartment must be haunted" but no, it was when my parents first decided to visit me and have a little vacation and see the sights. I said sure, you guys can stay at my place. My parents said no they wanted to stay at the "Military Lodge". I remember thinking to myself "That shouldn't be a problem" so I did the necessary arrangements and made reservations. Okay, so this Lodge is pretty old, you can see the hotel going through some heavy construction. I was surprised they were still open for business with all the construction going on. So the day comes and my parents come to visit. We head over to the lodge and get our room. We inspect the room and its pretty old school and seems decent but my dad doesn't like it. He insists that we should get a new room that's better. I remember thinking to myself that I will be the adult and get things fixed for my parents. I'm 19 and pretty proud of myself that I'm the first one to move out of my parents house despite being the youngest child. Now, I go to the receptionist and get the rooms changed into the main building. Mind you, our first room was in one of the buildings that wasn't being renovated. So we get to our new room and the entire room has been refurbished. I asked my dad what he thought of the room and he said that it was much better. So we unpack and relax for the evening. We turn on the TV and start to watch a movie, now at this time it's starting to feel a little odd in the room like I'm being watched. I brush it off as it's just my nerves. We finish the movie around 12 at night and my mom was already asleep, my dad said that he was going to sleep as well and said not to be too loud with my games since he knew I brought my playstation 1 with me and knew I wanted to play some games before I went to bed. While I play the feeling of being watched is now much more prevalent and I kind of freak out since I don't see anyone looking at me around the room and everything is dark. I decide that it's too creepy and turn off my playstation but leave the TV on. It's switched to AV so the screen is dark and blends in with the room. I run to my bed (there are two beds in the room btw) and jump in covering myself. About an hour or so later I wake up to something cold touching my feet. I immediately feel jumping on my bed like something is jumping frantically on my bed. I feel cold spots everywhere and cold skin whenever the feet fall unto the bed. Freaking out, I act as if I'm still sleeping and kind of act like I'm shifting around and face my parents while still closing my eyes. I barely open my eyes and squint to look at the direction of my parents bed. They're fast asleep, nothing going on in their bed. I thought to myself, "this is ridiculous, this cant be happening to me". So I begin to pray in my head saying the all father prayer when I hear a small weak voice just laughing at me as it KNOWS that I'm praying in my head. Despite the adrenaline coursing through my body, I somehow fall asleep. I fall asleep while these cold feet hit the bed and rock my body... and the laughing... When morning comes, I look around the bed to see if there is any explanation to this like an automatic massage bed or something. Much to my dismay, nothing. God, what a terrible night. I kept waking up in the middle of the night and felt this thing taunting me. Regarding my experience in the room, my parents didn't hear the bed rocking or anything despite my questions. The next night I was more on edge but I prayed out loud and thankfully nothing happened. - My second story is when I was now 22. I had a friend who liked to drive at night to relax his nerves. He asked if I wanted to tag along with him and I decided to go. We reach this one patch of road where its just a straight away with nothing but forest on either side. The only light coming from his car. Now its been about 2 minutes or so and were both singing songs with the radio when something in the distance catches my attention. Mind you, it's pitch black and I see this white speck in the distance. I ask my friend if he can see it too and what it is. He instantly freaks out and yells to me to roll up my windows. Freaking out myself I roll up the window and nervously focus on the white object. It's as if it's glowing but it's not a flash light or anything as you'd be able to see the stream of light and it moving about if someone is walking. The speck starts to become clearer and I could make it out to be someone walking in a white dress. I ask my friend what it is but I could tell that hes really concentrating on driving telling me to keep quiet and keep looking straight. Not knowing whats going on, I just listen to what he says. The radio is off at this point and were about to reach the person walking along the road. I can see that she has long black hair and a long white gown. Now, I shit you not, this freaks me out even now as I type this. My hair on my arms and my neck are standing on end as I'm recalling this event. Before we pass her, she jumps in front of the car and as I yell "oh SHIT!" and brace myself for a hit. There is nothing. Nothing at all. Now, what my friend says still sends shivers down my spine and makes my eyes watery. He says "whatever you do, don't look in the rear-view mirror or look in the back seat" I could feel a presence in the back seat with a cold sort of "aura" eminating from the back. We suddenly hear a womans voice but I couldn't make it out. I immediately understand what he means and just close my eyes until I could sense light through my eyelids. We get to a gas station and we both just sit in the car as if were still in shock. Truly a terrifying experience. - This is the third and most terrifying experience I've ever had with the paranormal. This was when I was stationed on a ship and I was assigned to take an inventory of the products we have in the bottom of the ship. Which is the freezer of frozen goods. Now, mind you I am alone and the freezer is enormous, almost covering the entire bottom of the ship. There are also so many items within the freezer that sometimes stock are piled up on the ground and we have the climb over, squeezing between the ceiling of the room and frozen boxes. I have a large coat on so at this point in time I'm sort of warm and still freezing at the same time. I'm hawaiian grown so I'm not used to the chill. Just thought I'd add that since I know people are used to the cold, not me though. Okay, so I'm taking inventory of the items in the freezer when I hear footsteps behind me and thinking it's one of my coworkers, I ignore it and continue with my work. I start to think about it and realize that the footsteps are lighter than my usual large and heavy steps my coworkers make. I turn around and see this little girl in a polka dot dress looking up at me. At this point in time, we are stationed at shore and the ship regularly conducts tours of the entire vessel. So I think she just got lost and ask her "hey, sorry but you're not supposed to be here" she looks like a normal little girl between the ages 7 and 8 or around there. She doesnt say anything but she just keeps looking at me. I start to get nervous and ask her if she'd like to go back to her parents. So I reach out to hold her hand when she just starts kind of walking but speed walk. It's hard to explain. If you ever watched Gothika, its the scene where the ghost walks slowly and then speeds up and then slows down and then speeds up again. She does this and goes further into the freezer and I completely freak out. No human should be able to make those sort of movements. I book it out of there and run up ladder-wells like my life depended on it. Fumbling like it ain't nobodies business. I rush to my supervisor who is just watching the other workers doing their business and tell him what happened. He begins to tell me that there were no tours being conducted during that time and he looks completely unshaken despite my freaking crazy story. He sits me down and tells me the event of when an officer brought his family to the ship to show them around. The officers daughter fell down the steep ladder-well and died. He said that people sometimes see her down there. I said "fuck that shit, I'm not going back down there on my own" needless to say, I was always with two other people when I went down there again. I hope you like my stories cause they were terrifying experiences for me and don't want anyone else to go through anything like them. Tell me what you think! |

BTW! Please share your experiences as well, doesn't have to be yours personally but a friend or loved ones as well.
I'd love to read some of yours if you're willing to share. |

The first one sounds like a classic case of sleep paralysis exasserbated by the feeling of unease before bed. These kinds of waking dreams are not unheard of, and I bet if you had tried to move or get up you would have found you couldn't, like you were being held down.
The second also makes me think it could've been some kind of dream-like hallucination, given that you two were driving at night, your friend seemed to be acting strange. (knowing something that you don't, advising you, generally being an authority during the event is symptomatic of a dream) The little girl, honestly may be yet another dream. If you're in this freezer, it's entirely possible you nodded off. Especially if you're unused to the cold like you said, and were performing a rather mundane task. You should be thanking this "girl" because the nightmare probably woke you, and who knows if someone would've found you. |

The second story, I wasn't asleep as I was talking to my friend the entire time. Lastly I was awake on the third story because I'm constantly counting and adding into the inventory using my head. I'm not the type of person to dose off, I get tired like anyone else but I don't fall asleep or hallucinate as I don't take any drugs. I can see that you're skeptical, anyone would be who doesn't believe in the paranormal, you'll just have to experience something one day and I truly hope you do. It's quite the experience. |

As I was saying in the other thread, I literally had an encounter with a ghost/spirit while in the shower. It was a public shower at a local recreation center. I was washing off the chlorine, I opened my eyes, and to the left of me was this person. Now I thought I was alone, but I was wrong. This person (or so I thought it was) was about 3 stalls down, so I said hi, apologized, and turned away. They didn't say anything. But as I turned back to turn off my water I noticed that the person was wobbling a little. I asked if they were ok, they didn't respond. Suddenly they just fell to the floor and started convulsing and bleeding from the back of their head. I panicked and back stepped as a knee jerk reaction. I knelt down to help them, looked over my shoulder and yelled for help, but when I looked back down, they person was gone. Not a single trace left behind.
I'm a practicing Pagan. I accept the fact that Ghosts and Spirits exist and should be treated with respect. But sometimes its hard to tell what is physical and spiritual.

This is all without considering the possibility that you may be misremembering things. The brain has an odd way of filling in the blanks, so if you remember odd/frightening experiences, your memory may be comign to conclusions and adding in the "facts" afterwards. Quote:

You may have thought you could move. You mentioned turning your head with your eyes closed. You could've already had you head turned before you opened them.
You could have been asleep, and talking to him in your dream. Counting can be an effective sleep aid. Ever heard of counting sheep? Tiring, monotonous tasks themselves are used by those who want to sleep. You don't need to take drugs to be tired or hallucinate. I can't experience something that doesn't exist. Everything was true, believe it, or not, its up to you. |

With a broad enough definition of "experience" and "exist," you actually can.
I had a dream as a kid where a wizard had set up a circus trailer in the woods next to my house and he had gum that turned you into different animals and I tried a piece that turned me into a bloodhound. Nothing in the dream actually happened to my waking self, thus the wizard and his magic gum didn't exist, but in the dream I did experience all of that and the wizard, his trailer and the bloodhound gum all exist to the extent that I can talk about them and that they inspired that character I made up named Azden the Wizard. |

In any case, I have experienced sleep paralysis myself. Once, and it was pretty frightening until I realised what was happening. But that's the thing, you're asleep or just were, and you're not in the most rational alert state of mind. After that it was more frustrating than scary because I couldn't get up, but I couldn't go back to sleep. Fear of helplessness followed by anger of helplessness. |
