Well, Hasbro and an entertainment division known as SEVEN in Saudi Arabia are developing an immersive experience attraction.
https://news.tfw2005.com/2023/05/11/...-center-482815 https://www.seibertron.com/transform...actions/47690/ This is already drawing some criticisms and I don't quite know how to feel about it. It leaves me with a bitter taste for obvious reasons. I doubt Hasbro would respond to any fandom reaction unless it's big enough, which it won't be. I also know that not everyone in that Kingdom is guilty of State-Sanctioned violations. Ultimately, what happens in the States or elsewhere won't have an impact. In addition, there are always business deals of this nature everyday. As stated in at least one of the included articles, a Play D'oh attraction of sorts already occurred. I still feel an uneasy numbness. Optimus Prime: "Freedom Is The Right Of ALL Sentient Beings." I'm not the first to think of that motto when responding to this "development". Whether directly or not, this also connects to Power Rangers. Last edited by TokuKnight89; 05-12-2023 at 01:24 AM.. |

It's funny how years later after this skit was aired Pete Davidson and Peter Dinklage went on to co-star in Rise Of The Beasts as Mirage and Scourge.

The new transformers movie got mixed reviews. I hear it's better than the five Michael Bay films, but that's not a hard feat to do.

I have no idea why this is the characterization that stuck to this character specifically. I want the stuffy speeches leader who's a bit of an airhead sometimes back. At least they did good with Optimus Primal from what I've gathered. But it’s the first Transformers movie I want to watch since – a long time ago, so that’s something. Will probably watch it once it hits streaming services. |

I'm watching all 6 movies before I see Rise Of The Beasts as a full series and
as a refresher btw. First time to see them together. It'll be interesting to see the full story start to finish up to The Last Knight. Will see Rise Of The Beasts at a later date.

They actually did a decent job with Optimus. He's an asshole, but it's intentionally presented that we, as the audience, are supposed to be against him.
I enjoyed it. While I prefer Bumblebee for the more grounded setting, I actually quite liked the dynamic between Noah and Mirage. Probably my favorite human-bot duo in the franchise (Even beating out Charlie and Bee).

They group released the 5 movies pre Bblebee
I got Bumblebee on it's own. I watched a few minutes of Beast Wars on You Tube to get a basic feel for Rise Of The Beasts which I plan to get on disk later. Given the series is in 2326 it's weird they set the story in the 1990s on the big screen. I wonder if Trans Formers 9 will set up the first movie if the next two move the story forward a few years. Megatron was revived in the first movie so it would have to be before then. Unless we're getting an alternate timeline stunt per usual.

ROTB didn't give me a great big "WOW" feeling.
Bumblebee was good cause outside of the battles on Cybertron which were largely just a G1 love-letter in terms of Cybertronian designs, it was a smaller cast and predicated on relationships and added a sorely needed human element that had been missing from the sequels. ROTB was a "return to form" in terms of the live-action continuity. I'll admit that I missed the very beginning just before the title card and 1994 setting establishment, so this is just an analysis of what I did catch. It had more characters and less focus on those "characters". In many ways, the Maximals were just window dressing without much development. I wasn't all that invested in the Unicron aspect and Scourge comes across as "generic bad guy doing generic bad guy things for generic bad guy boss". Noah and Mirage had a decent relationship, but Noah didn't move me like Charlie did. Not the first time Pearlman has done a version of Primal, and while he did a respectable job, it would've been more appropriate to have Chalk do it. Seriously, they could've gotten one of the BW actors even if it's only for a cameo! The spoiler towards the end did throw me for a small loop, but I'm not that surprised given the Image Comics/Skybound release of "Void Rivals". I would give ROTB a 7 cause I didn't hate it, I just wasn't as thrilled as I wanted to be. Not surprisingly, but the brother was wearing a MMPR shirt which looked appropriate for the '94 setting. |

I really enjoyed RotB. Cheetor and Rhinox were disappointing underutilized, but aside from that I thought it did a fantastic job blending the style of the Bumblebee movie with the Bay movies. The Reboot or Prequel question remains frustratingly unanswered, with hints that could be interpreted either way, but that's understandable for the sake of To Sell Toys. The kids for whom the Bay movies were their first exposure to the Transformers are at the point in the nostalgia cycle where they're becoming a prime target market, and Hasbro wouldn't want to push them away. As for what the whole deal was with the Maximals and Terrorcons, there were definitely some hints scattered throughout, and Caple has suggested in interviews that he wanted to go more in depth but was veto'd by higher ups. Hopefully if he is back for a sequel, he'll be able to expand on his ideas

Watching Revenge Of The Fallen.
When there's a price drop on disk I plan to see the new movie. Not at 20 bucks plus tax so I'll wait.
