Okay so it may just be me, but lately there seems to be a toku fatigue going on. First for the past few years, while Super Sentai does have its moments once in a blue moon, the majority of it is just boring to me. Kyoryuger was not that great, sure some moments had me interested, but the vast majority of it was boring for me to watch. To much red focus and mediocre ending. ToQger to me had an interesting idea, that never really got played upon until later in its run, like the last arc. It was nice and good, but sooooo many months had passed, with so little moving and a lot of stupid filler. Ninninger is just terrible, the suits and mech are pretty good, but the show itself had little substance to me, and from what I've heard through podcasts, it isn't getting better.
Now Kamen Riders has been pretty good, with Gaim being phenomenal. Sure it had some flaws, but it had me hooked from week to week. Drive took months until it got into high gear, and really had me invested, hell I almost cried during its finale. Right now Ghost is showing some signs of improving and furthering its plot, but none of the characters are likable enough for me to really care right now. Now Power Rangers, during Megaforce and Super Megaforce, was pretty bad. Interesting concepts, that were hyped up to no end, and had a Super Mega let down. Now Dino Charge has been pretty good, with great character traits, and little quirks that I just really enjoy seeing. So my question here today is well, anyone else experiencing tokusatstu fatigue? Should I take a break for a while, or just stop? Watch some older show, or again take a hiatus from toku? |

Ultraman X has been enjoyable for me so far. I do like Ghost so far and I like it better then Drive. Drive was a big let down to me and it's the first Rider show since Kiva that I dropped when watching it. Ninninger is alright, I like it better then ToQger. I still need to watch more of Dino Charge since I only seen episode 1. I will likely watch all of them on Netflix when Season 1 is finished.
I still like Toku a lot and there is more to Toku out there then just Kamen Rider and Sentai. Maybe give the Garo and Ultraman shows a try. |

Nope.
Enough good shows currently airing, enough past shows left to catch up on. |

Sounds to me more like fatigue from Rider, Sentai and Power Rangers. Ultraman X has been an excellent currently running show, and the Garo that finished a few months back was great too.
Broaden your horizons, toku has so much more to offer than just those three franchises.

I haven't watched much toku this year, but it's more of a lack of time to sit down and watch it than a waning interest.
And I fully back up all the good things said about Ultraman X so far. |

I kind of have. I tried catching up on Ghost earlier, but it just didn't grab me.

So it seems that not as many people are losing interest as I had thought. It's strange really because a lot of people are complaining about so many different shows, that I thought less people were into tokusatsu recently.
Now thanks for the suggestions, but I've tried a few Ultraman shows after reading up on the lore, and they were pretty meh. Godzilla 2014 excited me, but didn't leave me wanting to go on ahead and see the rest of the franchise. GARO I've heard some positives, as well as negatives about. Hmmm, I don't know, maybe I'll just take a break for a while, the only exception will be PR, because DC is actually good. |

It depends, I'm losing my interest in all of the recent Toku series but I am still enjoying the hell out of the older stuff.
Frankly, I don't think any Sentai series has been anything worthy of the Sentai banner since Gokaiger. However, for the amount of **** I give Go-Busters, at least it tried to do something different. Kyoryu, ToQ, and Nin have been bland as **** and way too childish. Unfortunately, that seems to be how Toku is right now, childish to the point that I can't even find enjoyment out of it. I think Drive and Ghost flat out suck. Hell, I haven't even been able to watch anything of Ghost after episode 2 due to how awful the first two episodes were. I get they are aimed for kids, but come on, all of these series are for kids, but even my least favorites like Den-O and Decade did not get this dumb. It's like they started trying to focus on 3 year olds instead of 8 year olds. But then, Garo has been the same way. Season 3 was boring as **** and the fourth season had no plot whatsoever. It was all "Been there, seen that done before, but better." I don't think it is that you are losing interest in Toku, I just think it has gone in a direction that does not fit your desires and entertainment value. |

Well maybe I should check out some older shows then. Any that people would recommend watching?
From Sentai I've seen: Dairanger, Shinkenger-Toqger Haven't completed Zyuranger, Megaranger and I've seen random episodes from various series. From Kamen Rider I've seen: Ryuki, Kabuto & Den-O, Decace-Ghost I've seen at least two episodes, from each Hesei Series and was about half way through Hibiki, Agito. Now I've seen episodes from Max, Mebius, Ginga, Neo and a Zero movie Haven't seen much in terms of other stuff except Godzilla 2014. |
