See, my knowledge and love of Ultraman is more from the Showa stuff than the Hesai and other modern era stuff. I don't know why so much of the modern stuff, including the movies, are not subbed. Or, if they are, I just can't find them. Ultra Galaxy: Mega Monster Battle, for instance, I can't find stuff for that anywherem including Mega Monster Battle Ultra Galaxy The Movie, which seems to be the sort of key linking film.
Just so strange to me that there are literally fansub outfits fighting over dubbing Super Sentai and Kamen Rider, but there is a ton of Ultraman which is just out in the void. Baltan II, think you can give a breakdown of what order to watch the modern stuff in, at least in as far as when it ties together like the Mega Monster Battle and Ultraman Zero stuff? Near as I can tell this is the order: Ultra Galaxy Mega Monster Battle Ultra Galaxy Mega Monster Battle Never Ending Odyssey Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy Legends The Movie Ultra Galaxy Legend Gaiden: Ultraman Zero vs. Darklops Zero I Ultra Galaxy Legend Gaiden: Ultraman Zero vs. Darklops Zero II Ultraman Zero: The Revenge of Belial Ultraman Zero Gaiden: Killer The Beatstar I (added 9/17) Ultraman Zero Gaiden: Killer The Beatstar II (added 9/17) Ultraman Saga

Your list is missing the direct-to-DVD releases with Jean Killer that take place before Saga or the Mega Monster Battle prequel with Mechazam. Everything else is covered.

Uhh, Tsuburaya themselves subtitled the film, so picking up the Blu-Ray means you can watch the film subbed and without any issues. There are rips of the film and subtitle script out there. There are also fansubs for the beginning of Ultra Galaxy by GUIS but I don't recall if they're finished or not. Lately I've been very disconnected from the internet for several reasons - that's why I haven't even replied to this until now.

I picked up Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy Legends The Movie on DVD off of eBay after Christmas. So very much looking forward to watching that.
I was at a New Year's Eve party on Monday and I told two of my friends about it, including how a lot of it takes place on the Ultra planet and thus no 3 minute time limit. One of my friends looked at me and said "Why aren't we watching this RIGHT NOW?!" ![]()

Just watched Ultraseven X episode 7. This show continues to impress me. I am reminded of a mix of The X-Files and Doctor Who, with a layer of Ultra on top of it. This episode especially had a Doctor Who feel to it, with an alien and Earthling having fallen in love. The Viro aliens also had that sort of basic BBC look to them, but unlike anything from Doctor Who they also had a giant robot! Ha!

STILL waiting on my Ultra Kaiju Bemlar; supposedly going to ship some time this week. I want someone for my Ultra-Act Ultraman to fight, dagnabit!
My wife had to work last night, so after the kids went to bed I got to watch some Ultraman. I watched episodes 18-21 from the Mill Creek DVDs. The episodes featured the monsters Zarab-seijin, Aboras & Banilla, Hidora, and Kemular. The show is really hitting it's stride now and the mix of more traditional science fiction is now becoming more confident. The Zarab-seijin episode is a devious twist up of the Day The Earth Stood Still, with an alien coming to Earth claiming to be friendly but is (of course) secretly evil. Zarab is a bad dude, and he gives us our first Ultra vs Ultra fight! (Sort of.) The next episode has Aboras and Banilla being accidentally awoken from their ancient tomb and rampaging across the country to fight at the Olympic arena. It's the first time in a while that we have seen two monsters fight on the show, and it's a neat fight as they destroy the arena. Both monsters are clearly rehashes of earlier suits but they have a lot of personality so that's alright. And we get some great city-smashing as well! The Hidora episode has some metaphysical elements as the monster seems to be embodied with the soul of a dead boy. Hidora himself is a really in-your-face monster. When Ultraman first appears to fight him, he is not even done landing before Hidora runs right into his chest and knocks him down. Plus the ending is a twist, too. Finally, the Kemular episode had some elements which (to me anyway) called back to earlier Tsuburaya stuff. Namely, the scene of the ladies hiking up the mountain only to be attacked by Kemular made me think of the young couple being attacked in Rodan. Similarly we get a very old school scene of Kemular raging across an open field as the JSDF pounds on him with artillery, only to have the monster lay waste to them. I can't wait to watch some more. The Jamilia episode is coming up, and some classic monsters are going to reappear soon. This show is just an absolute blast. Well my seller has finally marked my Bemular vinyl as Shipped so hopefully he should be here in a few days!

Just watched the debut of Gomora. Holy crap! I never knew why this guy was always put in the same league as monsters like Red King and Eleking and Baltan, and now I do. He's more akin to something from a Toho production than an Ultra monster. Now I am really interested in seeing him as a summoned monster in Ultra Galaxy Mega Monster Battle...
