Well, we're ragging on Faiz a lot but, I really didn't mind it. I'm not deep enough into Ghost to really know my true view on it but Kiva - shit, I'm going to have difficulty finishing that series after King Poop on Demon Turd Mountain. That movie irked me so bad I had to watch some Hibiki to get my Rider love back to sycophantic levels.

Up to episode 22 of Kiva.
These past two episodes were one really really fucking weird-slash-stupid storyline. Just...man. This episode in particular was just...sloppy. Bad way to introduce Mio...who I'm also pretty surprised to see (now checking online) will be a recurring character. Really felt like the sort of throwaway character that ends up dying at the end of the two-parter, but whatever. |

I'm kinda baffled as to why he was included in the show at all. I mean, I have a soft spot for dark riders, so I didn't particularly mind him, but he didn't serve any real purpose from what I can remember. In fact, now that I think about it, Kabuto didn't really explain a lot of things, like how in the world Yaguruma managed to get his hands on the Hopper zecters, or where they even came from in the first place.

And now episode 24.
Man, I don't even know what's going on with Kiva's storytelling anymore. Of course, other than the fact that it's deteriorating at an alarmingly rapid pace. And I was enjoying it so much even just a few episodes ago. What the hell is this. Also don't really like Emperor Form. Which is unfortunate because from what I hear that's mostly what I'm gonna be seeing for the next 24 episodes. Bleh. I still like Riki though, so there is that. |

Yeah, so, what happened behind the scenes with Kiva? Clearly there was a solid plan in place at the beginning - I mean, there had to be, right? You wouldn't concoct a multiple timeline show and you certainly wouldn't greenlight such a show unless there was a solid plan in place on how it was all going to work... right?
So I thought there must have been some problems in the writing room but, according to the wiki, Inoue wrote the whole series, save 17 & 188 by Shōji Yonemura. It's like Inoue lost his show bible and just couldn't remember any of his plans.

It's like Inoue lost his show bible and just couldn't remember any of his plans. Also, these shows aren't set in stone, no matter how much was planned out in advance. Some shows lost their showrunner, some either lost an actor or at least had less access to that actor than planned, and some just changed their mind about what they wanted to do. OOO very famously changed direction a lot from the original plan with Akira Date sticking around far longer than planned, Doctor Maki replacing Ankh as the final villain, and the whole Eiji becoming a Greed storyline that wasn't part of the original outline at all. |

Up to episode 27 of Faiz now. Sawada takes this show to a new level of "edgy".
I am however enjoying the little "Delta belt makes everyone go mad" subplot that's going on at the moment though.
