what the hell?.. why are all the sets that i've seen have the buildings molded in an army colored green?.. it's SOO lame and has completely turned me off from getting it.
i'm still surprised that they gave godzilla gills. |

All the buildings are modeled in gray, not green.

As for the reason why the change was made, via a Toho Kingdom interview: Quote:
Mirjahangir: Why are the buildings different colors yet on the back of the box, they're grey?
Bandai: Originally all of the buildings were grey and some of the early shipments will likely come this way. However we decided that since grey isn't exactly replica to real buildings that we would add some color just for fun. So, if you can find packs with all grey buildings, you may have a limited edition.

There are sets with olive green buildings as well, which are visible around the web even if you've only encountered the gray ones. As I mentioned earlier, it's a running change, one that apparently exists with the Packs of Destruction as well, but those haven't shown up in stores nearly as widespread as the action figures or the Destruction City yet. The buildings for those sets are red (Godzilla) and blue (Winged Muto) or gray (both).
As for the reason why the change was made, via a Toho Kingdom interview: well hey, at least i'll save money on this set and hopefully he'll understand that there isn't a city in the world that comprised of green buildings. .. i'm not sure how that military green color is "more fun".. oh well. Or maybe you'll encounter one of the gray ones and pick it up. They're all over eBay too, although obviously at varying degrees of being overpriced. BBTS and Amazon have all three different sets available and might have them all in gray, but that's something of a gamble. Or, because they're still shipping and available, you could pick one up from a friend or acquaintance who's found the gray version.
I don't entirely understand Bandai America's reasoning behind the running change, but on the other hand I actually want to own both varieties of colors eventually, having an even bigger cityscape with some colorful variety.
