Think that could describe the whole series for the past month :lol

Its because of Covid the scenes seem so familiar. I think that same rock quarry has shown up in multiple episodes.

Well that was a very action packed episode! Non-stop fighting, multiple transformations, and a large amount of suit actors on screen at any given time. Then of course an epic robot fight. They literally fought all day into night. My goodness what a show.
Side note, I kinda wish Stacaeser had his own gun that wasn't just a repaint. He's so visually different from the other two, even down to his robot looking like its almost from another show. The 3 human characters all look so cool and interesting next to each other. Another side note, I didn't know pizza sukiyaki was a thing and now I have to have it. |
the dance off genuinely made me laugh.

This is just mean, Zenkaiger! You seriously expect me to come in here and reward an episode that spends most of its runtime dumping on Stacaesar with glowing praise!? Well only because I like ya' so much... I mean, it's kind of a win/win scenario anyway, to be honest. If Stacey accomplishes his goals for once, it's an exciting victory for one of my favorite characters. If he keeps failing, it only increases the underdog appeal of one of my favorite characters. There's basically nothing that can stop me from really liking Stacey, is the point! Besides, having him get humiliated in this manner does fit his character perfectly. He has to lose anyway because he's the bad guy, but simply as a person, he's... I mean, geez, what isn't he? Stuck up; arrogant; proud; prickly; unsociable; haughty... the list goes on. He's the sort of character who is inclined to take any defeat extremely personally, and that means every time he comes back from an episode like this, he'll only have more emotion behind him, and be that much more interesting for it. He's still the perfect anti-Kaito, and I would gladly watch a million episodes of this largely one-sided feud escalating further and further. (Please fix up his robot though; that thing is too cool to end up in a scrap heap!) Oh, and that Twokaiser dude was in this one, or whatever? Yeah, I mean, he's pretty alright too. Okay, I kid – this is a solid outing for him as well. First of all, you wanna talk pride, the idea that Zox will stop in the middle of a fight to prove his superior dancing skills is maybe one of the funniest things they've done with the guy yet. And since this show is always so packed, that is but one beat in the middle of a delightfully elaborate showdown between Twokaiser and Zenkaiser that isn't even the climax of the episode. It's got pretty much everything, too. They fight with guns! They fight with swords! Zox gets all big and tries to step on Kaito! The other Zenkaigers even give comically melodramatic performances in reaction to Kaito's faked defeat! You can't go wrong with any of that. Top that off with the second leg of the action with Stacey in the mix, followed by a robo fight with some rather stunning visuals, and you've got an episode with fantastic action all around. You also can't go too wrong with the writing behind it, either. Again, Stacey is always great, with his complete inability to see outside his own worldview, but this is some of the strongest material Zox has been given yet. Like Kaito points out, it's actually really interesting that his first instinct (or at the least decision he landed on) after being made that offer is to ask Zenkaiser to fight. It makes so much sense that elaborating kinda devalues it, but I don't know, I just like that he did things the showy pirate way rather than tackling Kaito from an alley or something. All his behavior here is so on point, and you can sort of tell that Koumura was a sub-writer on Gokaiger, because he is at max Gokai power the entire runtime – charmingly bold and surprisingly pleasant without exactly being heroic. That line where he tells Stacey to thank him with actions rather than words, too... *so* good! This was a great episode! |
Huh, funny how quick they solidify Kaito and Zox being on the same page. 7th hero impending? There still is room for a bangai after all.
|
Is it okay to say that Zox is entirely stole the spotlight from Kaito since his debut?

Can't blame them, I've been finding Zox more interesting. |
I'm glad Zox straight up challenged Kaito to a duel. Surprisingly chivalrous for a pirate, but hey. Immediately, the fake out plan became obvious, but I'm glad that the fight itself was both cool, with them both using a variety of powers, and hilarious, as Zox clearly isn't afraid to resolve things via dance off :lol
Also, it was their first time in a little bit where they had their proper role call without an interruption. Decent episode, always nice to see more Sentai gear powers and more Stacaesar. I do hope Battle Caesar Robo isn't destroyed for good, though. |
Wow, a lot of Showa Gears here. Stacaesar's Dark Gears and presumably the Zenkaigers' Gears seem to exclude the power of any additional Rangers. Instead, Twokaizer's Gears grant him those powers, hence how he was able to use Big One's White Leader power (or maybe it's just Miyauchi's charisma) to control JAKQ similar to how Oma Zi-O controlled Drive.
Battle Fever Gear was pretty humorous for how it turned Kaito's and Zox's duel in to a dance-off. I can't imagine when that's ever going to be practical in a real fight though, but this show usually finds a way to defy expectations. I actually expected that samba stuff from the last episode to be an effect of the Kyoryuger Gear activated offscreen, but maybe two dancing Gears would be redundant. I don't understand how Maskman Gear saved Kaito's life, but maybe it'll make more sense when I watch that show. Does their Aura Power create illusions or something like that? I would have liked a better explanation from Secchan. Kyuranger now ties with Hurricanger as the most popular Gear. If you're a Kyuranger fan, Talk About Lucky! On to the plot, the Zenkaigers and Zox finally co-operate to set up this pretend duel in this episode which BTW was totally not written by Yonemura at all and they even get the conventional roll call. Stacey really takes it hard here though, since he was too arrogant to consider that maybe Zox wouldn't just take his word for handing over the SDtopia Toziru Gear. Zox comes from a world where everybody is a pirate, so I doubt there's much incentive for trust in a world like that! Stacey should probably work on understanding his enemy first if he wants to have a better chance at beating them. |
For Shi Ranger’s benefit, Aura Power is the power of life itself. Hope this helps.
|
I guess that makes sense in an abstract kind of way.

I'm now curious as to how Zox will use certain team's powers. I'm assuming, like with Turboranger, he'll be able to use a power that was only temporary. So Gorenger will net him the temporary Kirenger, Bioman the 2nd Yellow 4, etc etc.
So what about teams that never had an additional ranger, like Dynaman or Denziman? |
I am very late...
Quite an episode we had here. We got to see ZenKaiser vs TwoKaiser and how them utilizing their gears against each other. I've heard there was a moment in Battle Fever J where the French guy did a Spanish dance, so I guess that's what they were referencing here, which still cracked me up and making me think of Guardians of the Galaxy with the dance-off. Seeing the Kikainoids mourning over Kaito was very amusing to me, and the Goldtsuika (Goldtweaker? I don't know what's the right way) with their little pirate flags was a cute little detail. Then TwoKaiser played the Uno Reverse Card or Magic Cylinder, with Big One sicking JaaQ at Stacaesar. I honestly hope this isn't the last we'll see of Battle Caesar Robo, because it would be a waste to scrap it this early in the game, especially when Smog Jouki got to stick around for pretty much the entirety of Kirameiger. Next Week: I already love it. |
Maybe it's just bad video quality, but did anyone else notice a gray discoloration on Stacey's ear? At first I thought it was some kind of earpiece because it reminded me of Jin mk2's little earring things, but it looks like just a gray patch. He has it in other scenes through this episode too, I'm not sure if it was there previously. Quirk of the lighting? Weird makeup? Or maybe a glimpse of kikainoid metal under skin-colored paint? https://images-wixmp-ed30a86b8c4ca88...vDPPhYYPk2H8I4
I also noticed that of the three human rangers, he's the only one without earrings, Kaito and Zox both have them. |
Yeah no he just wears that
