So it looks like Vice is out permanently and so far is behaving.
Was not at all surprised to see Evil emerge again. I knew that would happen sooner or later. Apparently he's able to emerge if Daiji becomes too injured, or maybe it's unconscious? Anyhow, too weak to suppress him anymore is what I get. Come to think of it, this makes all three siblings a liability in a different way now. Ikki's the most powerful and has no combat disadvantage per se, but his demon is free full time and he no longer has any real control over him. I don't really expect that to be a problem except maybe for an episode where the Deadmans try to win him over. Daiji will, if beaten in battle, sometimes switch sides. Sakura's demon is completely defenseless and vulnerable. It generally takes another rider defending her full time, which is a pretty hefty tradeoff, unless she's turned into a weapon, which removes that vulnerability. So kinda interesting. This confirms that the two boss monsters are a third stage contract, which are what they need for sacrifices. lastly, it's pretty obvious to me that the commander is not the real bad guy her. It's a shapeshifting villian. The real commander is being held hostage somewhere. |

Also, its specifics are not very clear to me. That is, it is obvious that Daiji has envy of his brother, and Sakura tries to behave like an adult, but Ikki has no craving for chatter, "funny" comments and cannibalism. Does this mean that Vice was formed so long ago that he and Ikki, as individuals, developed separately and now they are united only by the master / demon bond? |
Well that explains on how Sakura acquired the Libera Driver.
Question is on whether the Commander has always been the Chameleon Deadman or he was replaced some time ago. |
So was Kagerou's return triggered by something Olteca did specifically, or just because he was hit hard enough? I'm curious.
With the Chameleon Deadman stating that this plan has been in motion for a while, I'm curious for how long the commander has been a fake. And Vice is out. I expect shenanigans to ensue. That aside, I found Vice being proud of his egg shell shield to be cute, and the scene with Ikki and Hiromi sitting in the bath together, dejected, to be pretty funny. Also, I know I probably should've noticed this episodes ago, but Revi's individual boots having a 5 and 0 make no sense, since unless he does a 2 footed kick, it's always going to be a glowing 5 or a glowing 0, making the 50 motif on his feet kind of miss the mark. |

Still makes solo kicks a little awkward, but it's a lot better! |

Hmm the Kagerou stuff kinda dissapointing in this episode, its not clear wheater its tentacle's Atk or Daiji been knock out or its because He feel ikki not beliving him enough...
The commander in other hand can make interesting Scenario in the Future since he can shapeshift to anyone... an Yes it raise question that Since when? I can assume The real commander already dead and this dedman just assume his form since then Kinda Sad Hiromi didn't get any explanation Why last week he can't use 2 genomix or the explanation about the driver itself... However if the commander have demon's driver and use the driver to villany stuff THAT can be intresting, we already shown what the driver capable off and i do thing KR demon will be intresting if the role become Villain |

The commander doesn't have the Demons Driver. George swiped it off him seconds after Yujiro got it. |

Also because so far the show has been Very clear to explain "Why" even lovkov weird plushie form is kinda explained in this episode, so yeah i kinda expect hiromi got better arc latter on I think Commander dedman can make it work to steal demon's driver since his ability is shapeshifting... in fact i think he also steal original stamp on this epusode, i might be wrong tho |
You know, part of me was kind of hoping that Lovekov's snake outfit would change according to the power up Jeanne uses. Having her become weapons make sense so she's not a sitting duck the entire time, but still, would've been cute :lol

I am curious to see where Kagerou can go from here. If he'll get genuine development, or if he'll just become an occasional obstacle once every few episodes. |

Mostly reasons to just see the Evil suit again as opposed to Live :lol |

I kinda curious tho whether Vice can use a Belt in future since he have a physical body... but i have the feeling thats gonna be V cinema Lol

Maybe Vice have upgrade form after he has a physical body?
|
I don't know what's funnier, George not giving Vice an upgrade form purely out of spite or Vice gluing a shield for himself.
|
Hoping that Hiromi being benched at the moment means he can get an upgrade as well.

I really like this teaser image for the next episode. It makes me imagine what Revice would be like if Jeanne was the main Rider.

So THAT'S why she uses Showa stamps
|

So far all Showa stamps (Batta aside) have animals that correspond with Kaijin the Rider faced. I know nothing about ZX; did he beat up a Peacock monster once? |
ZX, being a one-'episode' TV special that was mostly a clip show, featured a single kaijin: Tiger-Roid, a Tiger kaijin (obviously) with a bazooka on his back. He's kind of awesome and actually gets to show up in Super Hero Taisens sometimes!
... so no, it's a bit of a mystery why ZX's stamp is based on a Peacock! |

Oddly enough, this is the first design from Revice that I instantly liked x)
The others are...let's just say, an acquired taste now. So far I'm not disappointed with the series. I'm aware that some stuff are too simple but honestly I don't think we need much. Now that I have the context of this episode, I don't mind Kagerou coming back like this but I would see him as an enemy, not an ally. What I mean by that is that he could have his own body but be on neither's side. Hiromi being benched and the explanation given as to why it's this way is completely believable, what's not though, is the commander being an enemy. We don't know anything yet, but I don't think he got killed off or something like this. Vice having a body of his own is...well...interesting I guess. |
Speaking of the Peacock Vistamp, I found this awesome art on DeviantArt as to what a Peacock Genome might look like.
And again, like the rest of the Vistamps, probably best not to look too much into it. https://images-wixmp-ed30a86b8c4ca88...QMPzYQj4CQgqrc |

A long stretch but eh.. |
I do suspect the reasoning for a peacock came from the other end, what with the stamp colors matching Jeanne more than ZX. 'Hey, what weapon should our female rider mainly use?' 'Fans would be cool! Those would fit a peacock well, that's feminine.' 'Nice! wait we need a legend rider' 'uhhhhhhh zx? he'll be hard to assign anyways and if you kinda squint at his face...' 'eh, that works'
|
Going back to Ikki as the main focus of the episode. And so they're actually saving Kudo for this, a new Deadman human ally. I guess he's the one that'd be expected if the Deadmans pull this shit, as Kudo was the most evil among the contract holders before (he also looked really different... significantly younger).
Indeed Ikki hasn't let go fully of his overprotective behavior to his siblings, where they're Kamen Riders now, even if Ikki's in worse position that he can't use his Revice Driver and his siblings are the ones who can fight. And I think Ikki not fully learning his lesson is the reason why Kagerou manifests back in this episode, with Daiji still being babied by Ikki that he worries too much that Daiji can't be independent out there as Rider, thus his resentment to Ikki resurfaces as Ikki goes back to his old habit, where of course as usual Daiji is subdued by only pointing out that the siblings aren't weak anymore, but not for Kagerou. Really Ikki should stop as it has proven to have unfortunate consequences, or probably if he learns that Kagerou can come back. Though it can be Kagerou taking over when he's beaten up from battle or Olteca directly releasing it with his tentacles. Ikki's new upgrade Barid Rex Genome, focuses on ice, and it has a theme revolving it like Ice Age (the era where dinosaurs were dying). Sakura seems to be more relaxed dealing with her family after dropping her edgy act, dismissing Ikki and Daiji's concerns in more funny and lighthearted way (though I guess pointing out Ikki can't henshin is a bit of a payback, albeit Ikki too storms into the Skybase as regular human), though dunno if (she did ask for overcompensation at the end of last episode) she also hadn't fully learned her lesson like Ikki. Turns out that Yukimi has something to learn too herself, despite acting usually as a guidance over her sons before, that she's even more overprotective than Ikki is against Sakura, despite that she'd let her sons fight as Riders, and Sakura already being trained to fight. A trivia that 2 of her ViStamps Kujaku and Turtle had their Rider bases ZX and V3 dealing with dead sisters and avenging them. For once, Genta's the one to be sort of useful here, being the one to solve over this overprotectiveness by pointing out that it takes more courage to trust than worry, leading for Ikki to act fully friendly to Vice for the first time. With the 'trust' being shown by Vice punching a Deadman behind Ikki where Ikki didn't notice. I'm still not fully onboard with trusting morally dubious beings to be released which Ikki does to Vice, though it's true that there are also positive moments Vice did to him which Ikki overlook like trying to protect him from Kagerou, but I'm fully onboard on the more innocent side, on how you should trust others to handle problems by themselves instead of holding them back. Better try and mitigate problems (if not successful) than not trying at all due to over-worry of being injured. And not trusting others to handle problems is quite an innocent version of putting others down, viewing them as weak or incapable... Hiromi's the other one that has his Driver taken, for his physical health, and the episode does show that he will perform heroic deeds even without power, it's regardless required as Jeanne has inherent escort mission for Lovekov, if she's not used as weapon. Now Happy Spa's the one to lend a hand on Fenix by having Hiromi take a bath there. There's now a hook of Wakabayashi being actually a traitor and is Chameleon Deadman, but I guess it's just Chameleon's ability to shapeshift into others, and guessing from how Revice had some evil twist hook before, but actually not (Daiji's envy, but it's actually Kagerou, and Sakura at preview of ep. 12, but it's actually Seiko). George would still take pot shots at Vice for his criticism to Jackal design. Finally the mid-season upgrade Barid Rex Genome comes, which is George's big project at this moment. Vice did have his payback as the skateboard, but at this point, George's own pettiness and spite will just hinder Fenix/Kamen Rider's progress that Vice will be stuck on his weaker base form, hindering Revice's overall battle power still. This shows how cold traits can instead be detrimental, and storytelling-wise, it's probably an effective one to handicap a scientist's contribution. Though he's able to get over Sakura, only focusing on the sender. |

Remix and Machine parallel: Barid Rex is based on a tyrannosaurus, same as regular Rex, so it's still a Thunderjaw. However, we do get to see a summon of Revice Brachio which is closer to scale of an actual Tallneck! It also looks humorous as hell since it's just as weird as you expect from a Remix, but really big! George has a lot of audacity calling it the greatest invention of the century though. A Kamen Rider fan like him should know there's serious contention for such a title. |
