Ultraman Trigger: New Generation Tiga

So, he's just Tiga but new? The plot seems to be pretty much Tiga's and the villains are also similar to Tiga. So, it kinda seems like a remake/reboot than it is a sequel or an entirely new Ultra.
Still, he looks nice. Like Tiga but it's as if some other artist drew him and made his own adjustments. His weapon looks goofy in the scissor mode, but looks fine as a sword and bow. Haven't see an Ultra use a bow. Pretty weird the only thing 'Trigger' about him is the transformation device. |

What’ll be special about this new Tiga?
Will Take Me Higher be remade? |

Will "New Generation Tiga" suffer the same fate: "New Generation Has A New Tiga That Is New"!? Description ribbing aside, I'm intrigued nonetheless! P. S.: Got a series overview with details and a couple of images. https://ultramangalaxy.com/new-tv-se...uly-10th-2021/ |

I need more info and visuals before I decide if this'll be my thing or not.
Already, given my lack of interest in TDG, this isn't doing me much aside from the transformation device and weapon. |
Land sea & air. Cool. I Like it.

Yo this looks really neat, color me excited.

Okay, I've been away for a while since the initial reveal (the Ultraman Discussion Thread) and now here to present my thoughts:
First off, I love that transformation device. A gun that transforms into something reminiscent of the Tiga Spark, which is a great callback. Although, I'm not a huge fan of the voice, someone brought it up in the other thread, but this could also be a way for them to market this series overseas, or at least that's just me. Also, looks like the W influence people were joking about turned out to be somewhat true. The designs are simple, yet has a modern feel to them. I especially like the patterns on the gold parts. And the other forms, as someone already pointed out, having a resemblance to Tiga's fellow Ultras. The weapon is interesting, love the bow, and the sword looks neat, not sure how I feel about the scissors, unless those aren't scissors for whatever reason. Having the story set on Mars is something I'm all for, seeing an Ultraman series on another world is something I've been dying to see since Ultra Galaxy. Guts is somewhat back, the brief action scenes shown look amazing, and as a spiritual successor to Tiga, it looks rather promising, despite that I've yet to finish Tiga (saw maybe half of it, but never found the rest). And this is making me want to actually finish it, and given how it's the 25th Anniversary, Mill Creek will probably bring that out pretty soon. Now we'll have to wait and see how The Absolute Conspiracy ties into this, but even if it doesn't, I'm still very excited to see this, as with any new Ultraman show. |
From what I've read, the scissors are supposed to be like a pincer claw, which makes more sense for a strength-based form that could use it to grab and grapple with monsters. But it sure does look like a pair of scissors.
How much did Tiga rely on stuff from previous seasons? I've been looking for a jumping-in point to Ultraman for a while, but it seems like every modern season is an anniversary season with the heroes using the powers of their predecessors and the writers expecting you to recognize past monsters and Ultramen. |

If you want a modern Ultra show that has absolutely no connection as a good starting point I'd also reccomebd Gaia which is similar to tone and production to Tiga. And has unique lore and worldbuilding and wonderful score by Toshihiko Sahashi. But honestly you can jump into any show regardless of prior knowledge or not. These shows are designed first and formorst for newer audience each and every one. Though I understand on the surface it looks incredibly intimadating, with gimmicks, lore and returning characters and whatnot but it's honestly not that bad as the shows will explain away what nessciary for the plot for new viewers. |

Yeah now that we have a bigger full on trailer with the cast I can say that I'll probably watch this.
Looks interesting enough. |
After listening to the theme song a few more times I think I am getting used to it. The chorus was and still is my favorite but I think now I can say I like every aspect of it. Sure it's not the high-energy rock music from previous shows such as Z, but yeah, the whole eurobeat vibe it got going is working.

Looks great! I'm loving the opening, has that 90's feel like Take me Higher, even feels like a modernized version of it.
I love how we're going to have this take place on Earth and Mars, and what they show of each, look amazing. Love Kengo's baby carrier for the plant. I'm excited for this, and will definitely watch it when it debuts. |
i'm PUMPED

Ooh, I really like the designs of those three villain Ultras

Want to put my Ep. 3 thoughts here so as to not choke the primary Ultraman thread.
I didn't see anything overly shocking or exciting. Don't have any problem with Ignis yet (though he is kind of an ass). Of all the "Giants of Darkness", Hudram might be the one who has deeper characterization and the villain who really fits the bill. When Trigger and Hudram were hopping around, I didn't care for that sunset backdrop cause it clashed too much with the color palette for Hudram and Sky Type. Excellent miniature work as always, TsuPro! |
I'm starting to like the GUTS guys. I like the passion!
Except the GUTS Falcon's pilot. I don't think I'm ever going to get used to her swapping personalities in and out of the jet. |
