Oh... oh my god. That's INSANE
|
By the way, this might escape a lot of people here in how significant it is because it's not terribly well known... but that advert is actually kind of huge. The guy in it holding and displaying SHF Tiga? That's Hiroshi Nagano -- aka the actor of Daigo Madoka, Tiga himself! And it's the first time he's been involved in anything to do with Tiga since its movie in 2000!
This isn't because he grew a dislike for it or had a grudge with Tsupro or anything - quite the opposite; he's spoken positively about his time on Tiga constantly in interviews since. But the acting agency he works with is notoriously strict about what its actors can and can't do and have had many infamous behaviour over the years; with only a very recent change in management toning that down a little. The tldr of what's relevant here is that Hiroshi Nagano is also a high-profile actor and musician, and that while he'd like to do so; him returning to Ultraman in any form is extremely unlikely and the sort of thing that would headline mainstream news. And sure enough, this advert for a niche collector's item has gotten an article in Oricon News. https://www.oricon.co.jp/news/218623...&ref_cd=tw_pic Big deal is all I'm saying! Very, very big deal! |

Seeing the additional pictures only make this figure look even better, I've never expected soft parts to be used in a figure like this, then again, I don't own any figuarts or seen any other examples of this.
And seeing people mention Daigo's actor in the ad is only making me love this even more. When Mill Creek releases Tiga, I am absolutely buying it to see this series completely. |

Seriously making the torso out of soft materials is genius. I wonder if the R&D for that Goku figure not too long ago came in handy. |

Everyone needs a place to start and getting introduced via merchandise isn't a bad thing at all, in fact it can be a great motivator! Ultraman is also very good and available to watch in the west so you could just try watching it a bit. |
