I have two questions about the toy: 1. In Dynazenon mode, how is the articulation in the arms, can the toy make a T pose? 2. In Dyna Rex mode, how is the articulation on the neck, can the dragon look left to right? |

Mine are fine. No stress or cracks or anything. You don't even put any stress on those spring pins in any mode, the only time the hinges are used are for folding the arms away in Dyna Rex mode and even then they don't have anything pressing on them.
I made sure to check both pins while taking the forms apart too, so I'm gonna chalk that up to bad QC luck. |
The pins themselves are under constant stress though. I just had my SOC Dragonzord's shoulders spontaneously break from them and then bought a new sealed replacement that was cracked by them out of the box.
I now freaking hate spring pins. But I don't think a second run would not use them. They're kinda used a lot though in stuff like this.. so unless there's more than the 1 early case, I also don't think it's a big concern yet. |
A reissue has been confirmed, with new orders opening tomorrow.

Reissue's up on AmiAmi. Ordered ASAP.
|
Should I preorder the reissue or get one from Mandarake? Hm...
|
I saw online that a model kit of Dynazenon is being produced by Moderoid (Kotobukiya). Honestly pretty excited about that. As much as I love what I've seen of the DX toy, it's a little too big for my collection.

It looks rather stylized and the combination gimmick seems to be cut but that might mean better articulation?

Edit: I'm seeing ball joints on his stomach leftover from Dyna Soldier. We might get still a transformation, but I expect either partsforming or we just get the bar Dyna Soldier lmao. Now how about a Knight model kit to go along? |
DX Combine Gridknight & Goldburn set; sale information will be published June 1st.

Aw, I kinda wanna buy it just for the cute Goldburn, but seeing no improvements on the DX Gridknight is odd. Plus, it'd be too small to pair with my other figures.
I might still be swayed just for the Goldburn, though. Depending on the price. I'm not planning to buy the DX Zenon, but that Goldburn, man. |
Ooh here's hoping it's not too expensive for those two. I'd love to just like, have them on their own.

Already saw the episode but I think this would have been better to put in some spoiler tags since it's in a thread not dedicated to the set. I checked in seeing if people had opinions on the set only to get spoiled on Goldburn lol.
But I'm all in for this. Gridknight will function perfectly fine with the Dynazenon combination. Just hope the Dynamic Cannon combination doesn't feel loose. |

Gridknight connecting to Dyna Diver is what scares me personally. But I'm mostly buying this set to display Gridknight and Goldburn separately anyways. |

So THAT'S why that part of the crotch area raises up on a hinge...
I didn't see any videos that actually went through the combo with Gridman so I figured that extra bit was for some future transformation, just didn't know what specifically. |
That’s cool with the combination of Gridman with Dynazenon but my question is about Gridknight and where are you suppose to put his legs when connecting to Dyna Diver?

Sorry for the double post but I got mine today.
I think this is a good set, much better than DX Full Powered Gridman. It’s a solid combination, everything goes together easily and you don’t end up with a wobbly mess of a product. Only negative for me is that yes, the waist connection of Dynazenon (where Dyna Diver meets Dyna Soldier) is a bit too loose. I can pick Dynazenon up at the torso, it holds, but as soon as I shake it falls apart. That's okay though, you really don’t want to pick this kind of figure up at the chest or arms anyhow. Lifting it up at the legs is fine, everything stays solid. I heard there are tricks to make the connection more secure but they don’t work for me. It can also pop apart when I try to articulate the arms and hold the torso at the same time, but it doesn't get in the way of posing. If anything I like that the connection doesn't feel scary, you can plug in and pull apart easily. And yes, the balljoints for the hip guards pop apart easily, I don't see that as an issue though, better this than potentially breaking hinges. Overall a really good set for that it is. Handling feels great, aside from the waist everything stays together very securely, and the novelty of a combining robot toy like this is great. I honestly even prefer Dyna Rex mode, it looks great and the waist connection isn’t much of an issue here because the torso is much lighter without Dyna Striker as the arms. https://i.imgur.com/qc6EdBc.jpg I'm displaying him as Dynazenon though, works better. And hey, I got a use for Full Power Gridman again! If only as a companion piece for Dynazenon. https://i.imgur.com/ayIvMz0.jpg The bottom line: Unlike Full Power Gridman this is a combining robot toy set you actually want to handle and want to play with. It is a bit expensive, quality overall feels solid though and I can forgive the bare plastic and sprue marks because they don’t really hurt the overall look much IMO. I would recommend this set, but only if you have the money to spare. For everyone else the upcoming model kit could prove to be a better solution, especially if the waist connection is more secure. |
There's one thing I'd like to know!
...How does he look next to an Ultra SHF. |

god i wish i had actually sprung for the shf ultraman titas
here's to hoping that he'll be reissued sometime in the future, but i doubt it 'cuz of how rare that is |
Heads up if you have the DX Dynazenon set:
Goodsmile's holding an advanced sale lottery for the Goldburn/Gridknight set on a dedicated page linked in their tweet here: https://twitter.com/GoodSmile_US/sta...61360300822539 If you follow the steps and enter the serial code stickered on the back of your DX Dynazenon manual, you have a chance to purchase and receive the new set months in advance with a scheduled July release rather than waiting for November. Worth a shot if you're going in on the add-ons. |
Ough, 8800 yen for those two?
|
Oh jeez 8800? Dayum I was... not expecting that for just the two of them, jeez.
|
The price is one thing, the other issue is that this set is a GSC online shop exclusive, meaning even after the lottery sale you cannot order it elsewhere and they don’t offer pre-order discounts.
So when a shop like AmiAmi or HLJ might've offered it for 1000-2000 yen off... yeah that's not happening here. Plus shipping you might look at something in the range of 10000 yen and that's definitely way too much for what you're getting here. EDIT: Although the order period after the lottery sale wave might not be exclusive? The wording is a bit fuzzy. If it's available through other retailers the price should be a little bit better. Anyways, the set will come with a special sleeve with artwork matching the Full Power Gridman set and that's pretty cool looking. https://i.imgur.com/NvNrxU7.jpg |
It’s just the lottery that’s exclusive. The wording on GSC’s page is just weird because they want to advertise the fact you can buy it directly through them.

I'll rather get it later with pre-order discounts. |
Talk about cutting it close. Just ordered one off Mandarake. Who knows if it will make it here in time...
|
Okay... NOW I see what all the fuss is about. (^o^')
In short, this is one phenomenal toy that puts the original Full Power Gridman to shame! The combination is solid, there're die-cast pieces, ratchet joints all over, a stand that can store all the extra parts, a crazy cool spring-loaded missile-hatch-opening gimmick, so on and so forth. So far, the thing that impresses me most is how they built in added points of in-and-out arm articulation into the arm housing in Dynastriker. Like... they thought of everything. (^.^') On top of all of that, they had the rather brilliant idea to make this toy a prop replica as the individual components do appear they do appear as toy-sized in the show. Only thing that makes me slightly disappointed is how the front skirt armor doesn't peg in securely on Dynawing. Those ball joints are already rather loose and will only get looser with time. All in all, though, I'm seriously impressed. https://i.imgur.com/eFy0i6g.jpg |
So just a clarification now that the Goldburn/Gridknight set is up for preorder:
It is a GSC exclusive item. So places like Amiami won't be getting it. |

10,800 yen for the set including shipping is ridiculous. EDIT: What's the shipping price like on the US store? I can't use it to see, but I'm curious to know what kind of shipping price they offer you guys. |
Shoot. I hoped this would be available everywhere, the price is too expensive for me, especially with shipping I could’ve saved by bundling it with a monthly AmiAmi order.
Oh well, the order window will be open for a bit, if the show blows me away and makes me think I need this then maybe I'll buy it. But on the other hand, Dynazenon by itself is already a great display piece and I prefer it over Kaiser Gridknight. And displaying Gridknight and Goldburn on their own - don’t know if I want to pay the price they're asking for that. |

That's one tiny Moderoid Zenon.
|
The Moderoid looks good! I hope its closer to the Minipla line. I also really dig the joystick thing. I can't wait to see if I can mod it into a function joystick.
