The Mystical Final Fantasy Thread
With Final Fantasy XVI coming for PlayStation 5 what games are you playing and what have you finished?
Completed Final Fantasy Final Fantasy II Final Fantasy VI Final Fantasy VIII (Minus Witch Boss Final Fight) Final Fantasy Mystic Quest Current Final Fantasy III Final Fantasy IV Final Fantasy V Final Fantasy VII Final Fantasy IX Final Fantasy X Final Fantasy XII Final Fantasy XIII Final Fantasy XV Final Fantasy Dimensions II |
I've completed XIII, XIII-2, X Remastered, Lightning Returns and VIII Remastered in that order, kupo!
|
People have said that there is some trouble with Final Fantasy XV on
Play Station 4. I have the Slim on order so hopefully I won't have this kind of trouble. Anybody having install headaches with XV? On another note having gotten both a Play Station 2 and 3 I'm catching up the main line games. I'm on Chapter 4 of Final Fantasy XIII at the moment. Nearly done with Final Fantasy X going after the final Summon beast. Also I've finished the booby trapped mountain pass and am at a temple after Golomore Jungle in Final Fantasy XII. |
Completed:
-Final Fantasy XIII -Final Fantasy XII -Final Fantasy X -Final Fantasy VII Remake -Final Fantasy: Theatrerythym (3DS) Currently Playing: -Final Fantasy XIV (Free Trial) -Final Fantasy XIII I had to temporarily uninstall XV because I needed space, so I'll finish that once I'm done with XIV's free trial. Also playing a bit of the two mobile games: Brave Exvius and War of the Visions, though they don't run that great, so it's pretty miniscule. Maybe I'll mess with my emulator at a later date, because I like the aesthetic of the former and the artstyle of the latter. On Hand (Which I plan to play once I've cleared some more games): -Final Fantasy IX -Final Fantasy VI -Final Fantasy V -Final Fantasy III -Final Fantasy X-2 (I have played it, but haven't finished it because I accidentally rushed to the end without realizing, and now am under leveled.) I do plan to pick up the rest of the XIII trilogy and find some way to play the first two at some point. |
Final Fantasy IX is the best Final Fantasy. 1v1 me in Opera Omnia if you disagree.
|
Once I set up my Play Station 4 I'll get Final Fantasy XV going.
|
Finished A Realm Reborn yesterday, really enjoyed it (except for the parts I got locked behind the bosses and had to catch up to my party). Now I have some side quests and dungeons to do before Heavensward and I'll be done with the Free Trial.
Afterwards, I'll be getting back to XV and VIII. |
Think the only Final Fantasy games I've ever played and beaten are World Of and XV.
Speaking of World of Final Fantasy, I really, really hope we hear something about a sequel this E3! I really loved that games story and I really want to see more of that setting. |
I've finished FF7, FF8, FFX, FF Type-0 HD, and FFXV. I never finished but made it close enough to the end that I can say I played FF4, FF12, FF12 Revenant Wings, and FF13.
After the letdown that was 13, Type-0 HD, and XV, I really couldn't care less about XVI. Plus, I don't plan to purchase a PS5. |
I got to the end of Final Fantasy VIII but couldn't get past the last boss witch at the end of the game darn it.
I started Final Fantasy IX a while ago as it's the only game in the Play Station 1 Era I missed. I'm on Disk 2 of Final Fantasy VII but need to replay Disk 1. On Play Station 1 I finished Final Fantasy I , II and VI. Finished Mystic Quest on SNES. I have Final Fantasy III - V on my I Pad so hopefully I can finish those 3 games. Final Fantasy XV is now the only outstanding main line game I have yet to play which I hope to start next week. (Not counting any other games right now except the main numbered games.) Also I'm playing Final Fantasy Dimensions II and am on the Eureka Arc of the game. |
I love the series up until FF12. FF12 is the game in the series that made me liking it less and FF13 was total garbage in my opinion.

So the only Final Fantasy E3 reveal was for a new game titled: Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, a Soulsborne/Devil May Cry (the latter at least to me) reimagining of the original Final Fantasy.
And honestly, the only thing that's disappointing is that the classic Warrior of Light design is absent, which is a shame, because a Dark Souls style design would have looked amazing. Instead we get this generic looking Hollywood protagonist dude. Seriously, the pink-haired Prompto and ponytail Sazh are my favorites, and that's not including Garland. Other than that, I'm looking forward to it, probably not as much as XVI or VII Remake, but I'm intrigued to see how this works out. Heck, if this is successful, maybe we'll get remakes for the other FF games. This will also be my first experience with a Souls-like game, which is ironic because practically everyone in my family plays Soulsborne games. |
I think my favorite part about this game is the desire to make a game "About an angry man". Jack woke up today and chose violence.
Also calling it, given how normal all of them look in their main renders. This is an isekai. |
Origin looks fun, but I think I'm getting too old for game characters who are this edgy. He just talks about killing chaos nonstop.
I'd say that I'm more interested in the pixel remasters, but I have no interest on playing them on either my mobile phone or my computer. All in all, I'm pretty disappointed by the SE presentations. I hope others were happier than I was. |

Here's hoping the actual game won't be overly edgy when it comes out... |
I don't know I kinda like the edgy tone? Takes me back to the early 2000's.
Also helps that we're getting wonderful content like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rV1TBnTJMFQ For further accuracy, the highest it goes is 240p |

My poor Garland. You deserved so much better than this, my liege! And I say this as a Dissidia on the PSP apologist. |
Speaking on Dissidia you know something I'm surprised at, while I get Nioh was a recent game and Square clearly wants to capitalize on that kinda gameplay via Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo...
I'm surprised that one of their first thoughts for a collab project wasn't: Final Fantasy Dissidia Warriors Like while the fighter nature of Dissidia is neat, I feel like Dissidia would make a cool Dynasty Warrior's game. |
Final Fantasy III
Going for the Dark Crystals but a 60 might not be strong enough so trying to level up. Final Fantasy X Going for the final main summons and temple trial. Final Fantasy XII Finished the booby trapped mountain pass and am at a temple. Final Fantasy XI Starting Chapter 04 |

Urgh, back on topic: yes," Dissidia Warriors" would absolutely have got my attention. More than *waves hand at Origins video* whatever that was. |
The Team Ninja FF game looks so bad. It feels like it was created by a edgy teenager from the 2000s.

Chaos?
There's only one thing to do then. We need to kill Chaos: http://i.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/n...23/741/21e.gif |

I'm unstuck on Final Fantasy XII.
I have Final Fantasy IX on PS1 CD. On another note I might play Final Fantasy XV on either Stadia , X Box 1 or PS4. |
