And going by the line that she can have 2 or 3 more Deadmen, I'm assuming each one will escalate as she seeks more attention (Such as possible targeting her sister). |
The shoes are actually a really clever way for that tease, simply because earlier in the episode Sakura told her something like "they don’t fit you".
Ayaka is completely and utterly feed up with what people expect of her, how she is forced to stand in the shadow of her sister and play along. |
Personally, Vice is an acquired taste. He's like Deadpool, except without cursing.

That was one heck of a twist at the end. Although considering her mother's lack of affection for her, it makes sense that she gave birth to the demon (man that did NOT sound right).

After seeing the OP for the second time, I admit liveDevil has grown on me a little. It's no ALMIGHTY, but it's at least good enough for me to not want to skip it or anything like that. The Secondary Rider's Driver is fully revealed and Daiji wants it! He probably wants to prove to himself that he can, after how he hesitated before and got Ikki dragged in to the fight. He's like the opposite of Ikki in that way. Ikki tried fighting alone out of fear of letting his devil loose, while Daiji fighting alone maybe is his devil. Unfortunately, his recent actions on the field have caused George to think of him as a loser similar to Hiromi. Daiji's going to need to prove his worth on the field if he wants to be taken seriously by his superiors again. The red and black color scheme and the design of the Driver look like it's supposed to be used in conjunction with the Spider Vistamp for the default Genome. Remix and Machine Parallels: Mammoth is a Tremortusk. |
Vice doing his own variants on Double's and Den-O's pose and line practically confirms that this will be a thing he'll do every time they do a Genome transformation. I dig it.
Also, Revice henshin text screen translations from IzuSubs: First transformation during the Deadmans attack: Ikki: How’d this happen… Vice: Heeey! Ikki!? Now’s not the time for daydreaming! Ikki: Let’s smash ’em and go rescue the two of them! Vice: Good to see you pumped! Ikki: Just hold on Sakura! Ayaka! Vice: Ikki’s kinda… Ikki: Let’s do it! Transforming into Eagle Genome: Vice: Come on, come on, come on! Ikki: Shut up! Vice: Come on, it’s bird time! Ikki: Slow down! Vice: Flying feels so good I just can’t wait though! Ikki: Just give me a sec here! Vice: Do iiiiit! Ikki: Don’t mess around too much Vice! Vice: Okay~ I’ll be a good boy and listen to Ikki~ Transforming into Mammoth Genome: Vice: My oh-my, someone looks angry. Guess I’ll put on a face too! Ikki: Vice. Vice: Mm? What is it Ikki~? Ikki: We’re finishing them with this. Vice: Gotcha! Roger that! |
- So I noticed in this episode that the stunt-friendly version of the Revice Driver is squished so flat that the entire back halves of the stamps don't exist, and I find that really amusing for some reason. They just keep designing these things to bulky to film action scenes with!
- I'm really digging Revice so far, and this episode continues to show loads of promise. It's very well-rounded, for one thing. The writing does a solid job planting all these little seeds for tons of larger things in the overall series, without ever losing focus on the moment. The plot hints at some fairly weight themes exactly the way you'd expect from the Rider show about fighting with and against literal inner demons, but they're taking their time building it all up. From the obvious focus on Daiji to seemingly innocuous dialogue between other characters, there's a lot about Revice I feel like I'll be looking back on eventually and appreciating the cohesion of it all. - But like, all that said, this episode is still just a fun surface-level romp with an easy to digest hostage situation and tons of wacky one-in-two Rider action, and that's what makes all that deeper stuff click into place. I mean, Daiji's feelings of inferiority are neat and all, but really, if I don't also get to see two guys pretending to be a mammoth running along train tracks that float in the sky on top of that, it's like, why are we even here? :p |
Ughhhh... Ok, it's official, Vice is unbearable for me!
I can't stand him. While I found his antic unamusing, I can deal with that. What I can't is the fact he blurts out every unfiltered subcouncis thought Ikki has, effectively telling us exactly what he feels before the logical part of his brain tempers that. And that blows! Worst offender, the moment where he makes lovy dovy eyes at the friend. It was obvious enough, but Vice making a heart with his hands makes it annoyingly obvious... And it feels so ungodly lazy! To me it drags Ikki, who's a fine character on his own, down into a boring piece of wood with a thought balloon and I hate it! It turns another solid episode into medicrati. |

I'm sorry to hear that you don't like Vice, but thanks to your comment I like him more now :lol |

I personally like to dig into characters' heads a bit to pull out their personality, and get annoyed if I get it told this easily or when there is next to nothing. But glad I made him better for you :D |
