For your genuine questions about Tokutsatsu Choices
This is for those people who wonder "Why did Tokutsatsu do this?" to get answers as to why they made that choice.
Here are some of my questions: Kamen Rider Saber 2 Questions One, why is one of the Ahiru Megid's abilities to go invisible? Two, where is the inspiration from the Japanese Tiger Beetle and The Singing Bone in Desast's design? So, what are your questions about the Choices Tokutsatsu has made? |

Also the tiger beetle idea, if you pay attention to Desast's jaw area, he has bug-like pincers on his mask.
It wasn't noticeable to me until I heard about all three inspirations, then I'm like, "Oh his jaw looks peculiar" and then yeah, it looks like pincers around his chin/jaw area. And that's not even mentioning his chest which looks like the back of a beetle who has yet to unfold its wings. |
If there was a Kuuga before Godai that could use all of his forms, how was it that Riku was able to manifest a Bowgun and a european-styled sword when those probably wouldn't have existed or be known back then. And why was it also when Geiz gained the Kuuga ridewatch from Riku's grave, it still said "2000".

As for the second question; That's just due to the whole "RideWatches steal the Rider's existence in time"-thing. Essentially, despite Riku being Kuuga long before the year 2000. The fact that Kuuga's history(show) happened(aired) in 2000 means the RideWatch is printed with the year 2000. |
Time is not linear in the Kamen Rider world
|
The Agito Ride Watch is another anomaly, since it's labeled 2001 even though the show takes place 2 years after Kuuga.
|
Or the Amazon Neo watch being labeled as 2017 despite Amazons Season 2 taking place 5 years after Season 1.

What convinced Toei/Bandai/whomever-made-this-call decided to make Accel turn into a bike? Like it's not bad, I just wanna know why. ^^;
|
Okay, in-story, the reason some of Build's combos make no sense is because Soichi was trying to confuse Evolt, but in reality, how the heck did the creators choose what bottles went together, or even what bottles to have in the first place? Were they just pulling words out of a hat or something?

What the hell was Foundation X originally supposed to be? I remember being intrigued by them since they tied Double & OOO together, but nothing was really done with them. And then Fourze happened & we got to see the 3 Rider Crossover where they were the main villains. But was that it? That was the payoff? I feel like there had to be more, atleast during the planning stages ya know?
|
It definitely seems like they were meant to be a modern remake of the idea of Shocker, a central villain that ties multiple seasons together; and like the later Nova Shocker I definitely like the interpretation of making them a corporate entity. But it uh... yeah, it just sort of petered out unceremoniously?
|
Yeah it really is weird, they honestly just seem to be in and out when it comes to like, their presence.
Cause W through Fourze, there was this building and them being dealt with. Then they went silent for a long while until Ex-Aid I believe with the Beast Rider Special. With them studying the Bugster stuff which leads into the whole Enigma Incident of Heisei Generations Final. Edit: Mid post edit but I do recall that the villain and helper fairies of Battride War were like former Foundation X people too, and that came out during Wizard. Not the most but hey it's there. lol After that they were mostly gone and then they pop up again in video game form via Memory of Heroez. But yeah they're fairly sporadic and it just seems to be up to whoever is writing at the time to push for them really. |
Iirc, the guy who was pushing all the Foundation X stuff just got slightly less involved with the running of things, and no-one else really cared enough to try and work it in until a few years later when, hey, wouldn't it be cool if we linked it back to that thing from five years ago?
Uhhh I mean Zi-O did it. |
Unpopular opinion, but I'm so glad they dropped Foundation X.
Yeah, a unifying force is neat, but when all they do is walk around in white coats holding briefcases as the heroes are unable to catch up with their average walking pace, it's so lame. So for such a dull group to be the "Real" masterminds behind the main villains' plots feels like such a slap in the face. The villains with charisma and an interesting plot is actually 10 rungs down the ladder of nobody characters? Yeah, no thank you. |
Foundation X had become an utter joke by the time Fourze rolled around anyway. Just say they're a subset/partner of Shocker and be done with it.
|
I've said it before, I'll say it again.
Foundation X are boomers because all they think of utilizing in terms of technology by the time of 2020 are old Gaia Memories and Core/Cell Medals. Oh and Build's Guardians, but not even the good ones, and those things aren't that great henchmen wise either. |
I really liked the whole Foundation X plans, I think it really gave the Riders a more convincing reason to get together instead of coincidently bumping into the previous riders monsters. But with the writer's indecision of keeping the riders stories in separate worlds or together can make Foundation X a little difficult to use in a story (Even tough Heisei Generations Final in my opinion did an amazing job at it)
|
Personally I always liked how Foundation X was essentially using the items that gave heisei riders their power for their own gain. Like if Shocker was always trying to make something that could surpass Kamen Rider, Foundation X was always bending Kamen Rider's power to their whim. Gaia memories, core medals, astro switches, gasshats, it just made sense for the current era.

Where did Eden's Thousand Jacker come from? Thouser still has his in the movie
|
I mean one of his allies was within ZAIA and the ThinkNet ear pieces are modified ZAIA Specs. Not to mention the Abbadon related equipment being Slashrisers and Shotrisers that are done up differently. And AIM's was a part of ZAIA for a quite a while...
It's probably through that one ZAIA guy that Eden got all his extra tech that wasn't the modified Zero-One Driver he got from Azu. |
Oh yeah, fair

As much as I love Kobayashi's works I do wonder, what brought her to make the decision that Ryunosuke/Shinken Blue will get his soul switched with a Manneken Pis statue in episode 27 of Shinkenger. :lolol
|
Because while it's a fact that tends to be overlooked due to her works being more universally beloved, at the end of the day Kobayashi is just as insane as Inoue :lol

I might be misremembering, but when they first appeared in W I got the sense they weren't masterminds, more like sponsors? And I think if you wanted to have an overarching evil organization, keeping them in a support role like that would be a better way to do it. |

Like... I'd agree with the problems being listed here, but they just didn't exist with Foundation X? |
Foundation X gets the job done really.
Though again, I still find it funny to rib them because of their usage of old assets in 2020 via Memory of Heroez. Like granted, they've got a few new tech things (Drones, Heavy/Speed Robots) but it's still funny how their main roster of stuff in that game are monsters from 2009-2010. |
