Kamen Rider Gotchard Episode 25- "A Young Teachers' Mistake!" Discussion
Unable to handle the power of Iron Gotchard, Houtaro is saved by a surprising appearance.
|
KR Iron Gotchard's main feature is its very high defense ability, thanks to Tenliner's upgraded level 10 form. It can even withstand Dread's new armor which was upgraded with Repli Unicon. It turns out Steamliner can revert back to its default level 9 form, this time due to exhaustion and unstability which are probably caused by it being used alone without another Chemy to share and balance the energy load. An evolved Chemy is like an evolved Pokemon or Digimon in the sense that it can revert to its lower energy form to conserve energy. When Tenliner is used with its evolved best match, Crosshopper, the resulting fusion form (KR Platinum Gotchard) is more stable and balanced. I like that KR Iron Gotchard's Iron Knuckle finisher is a full force train hit.
It's shown @ 02:18 that Houtarou's Ring reverts back from red gem to blue gem, so it's pretty much confirmed that the Ring he's using in this and last week's episodes is his Ring, upgraded by Fuga @ 06:38, not Fuga's Ring lent to him. The scene @ 06:49 where Houtarou's reforging Steamliner makes me think he's gonna scream, "AAAMAZONNNNN!!!", haha. I thought that Houtarou only needed an upgraded Ring to be able reforge Steamliner into Tenliner, but I was only half correct. What I missed is that he also needs the Gotchar Igniter to do it @ 06:48. It's a nice addition because it's logically and thematically consistent due to fire being a basic element that is needed to forge basic materials into a higher-valued item. "Trial by fire", as people say. Gotchar Igniter's crucial role in giving Houtarou the ability to reforge Steamliner could also be hinting at the important role his dad has (or had) in the story. Perhaps his dad was the Alchemist of Dawn who also invented the elixir to prolong his age??? *gulp! Fuga's question to Minato @ 02:40 may indirectly have something to do with Houtarou's past as a promising young alchemist. As Fuga states @ 07:30, latching a Chemy directly onto the Gotchardriver (not via RCC) is considered a dangerous, old-school technique, although it does give Houtarou higher amount of raw power. This is a common trope in Kamen Rider where a Driver and or a trinket are considered tools that filter the toxic, negative effect of raw power. There's probably an even more dangerous technique than this one where an alchemist lets a Chemy latch onto his body, thus directly fuses his own body with the Chemy's. This most dangerous technique is probably what was enabled by the ultimate, ancient Driver I hypothesized here, here, and here. As shown @ 10:21, it turns out that Minato was Glion pupil, like Houtarou is Minato's. Last week I hypothesized about Minato's being the one who gave Daiki recommendation to participate in the grand alchemy experiment that day that eventually ended in total disaster, so Minato had indirectly made him a collateral damage of the incident. Well, I was very wrong. As this episode shows, the whole circumstances regarding Minato is far simpler than I previously hypothesized. Glion killed Suzuya (and other nearby AA students) simply to show Minato how powerful he was. There was no grand alchemy experiment because Glion and The Sisters simply ambushed the AU HQ to take all the RCC's from Fuga. And Atropos simply found "the door" which probably was the portal shown in episode 20 where Glion killed Spanner's parents nearby. Glion also Neuralyzed Minato and manipulated his memories with the aim to torture his soul in despair, and probably to prepare Minato to be his puppet in the future in the case that his plan that day fail. I've waited for this reveal to unfold for the last 2 months, and this episode is the payoff. Man, this is soooooo underwhelming. Minato fails in this episode, and the Dreadriver is recovered by Clotho. He's proven to lose his utility, and Glion commands Lachesis to dispose of him. Lachesis has show signs of doubt since several episodes ago. Will she spare him and empathize with his circumstances, and even join him and defect from Glion? Next week: Glion's final plan begins. What is it exactly? Does he also have his own Driver? Or is he gonna use the ultimate form of Dreadriver? Atropos is gonna transform into KR Dread?! Fuga will transform with another copy of Alchemis Driver (or rather, the first copy of it) using Gigabaham (Fantastic 1) and Kuroana (Cosmic 9). His unnamed Rider form looks very nice. Dang, I didn't see it coming. This man's got so many tricks up his sleeves. His reappearances already feel like deus ex machina to me, haha. |

it's great seeing rinnie's father come back, he is the boss, im starting to get the feeling that maybe minato is goutaro's father? he seems to have that resemblance of houtaro. |
A crazy school spin-off in honor of the release of the first half of the show on Blu-ray:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZGNG7vYUhs For some reason, I have a strong association with the Birth special in honor of OOO’s anniversary. I love such things for their lightness, recklessness and the opportunity to watch actors in new roles. |

I watched it yesterday, and I liked it. any suggestions? It was helpful. Thank you so much. Since you helped me, I also want to help you if you are a student. I want to share a gem of mine with you. It is a https://ukwritings.com/coursework-service website that provides writing services, like essays, coursework, assignments, papers, and many more things. You can check that out on their website. The best thing I like about them is that they are so affordable. at that price point, their work is also good.

This reveal about Minato and Glion created several potential plot holes though, such as: - If Glion didn't Neuralyze Minato, then why didn't Minato do anything when Glion was missing due to being incapacitated after his last duel with Fuga a decade ago? For example, why didn't he try to tell the truth to the AU top brasses? Or, if necessary, why didn't he at least attempt to manipulate the memories of AU's top brasses, now that he's able to do similar mind manipulation trick? - Similarly, why didn't the AU's top brasses suspect Glion's missing for a decade? How could he (who was deemed as the hero) go missing at the same time with Fuga (who was deemed as the culprit) without being suspected by anyone in the organization? Why hasn't anybody in the AU suspected that Glion and Fuga could've been accomplices? A prominent member of a community can't just disappear without a trace without anyone noticing and becoming suspicious of. If Glion's schemes were only revealed in recent episodes, then in episode 1 Glion was still deemed as the hero by the AU and the whole organization. Gosh, the top brasses' decisions and actions are getting more and more irrational, illogical, and nonsensical. Not to mention how easily they were at being fooled by Glion. It's a sure sign of plot convenience. A very convenient one. - Fuga is also another victim of idiot plot. Why didn't he at least make an attempt to return to the real world to defend himself in front of the whole AU after he defeated Glion? Didn't he know that he defeated Glion in their last duel? Was he so absorbed in his development of Gotchardriver in the Ouroboros world that he forgot to keep in touch with the real world? Fuga is like a soldier who is still hiding in the jungle for a mission, and completely oblivious of the real world and the fact that the war had ended and his country has been victorious since 10 years ago. These idiot plots are symptoms of plot conveniences, aka manipulation by the writers. The memory wipe/manipulation trick is the tool used by the writers of this show to conveniently move the story according to their need. Sigh. I'm afraid Gotchard has landed on the land of mediocrity. |

I think the writers (or the writer) shot themselves in the foot in this one. Whether caused by Glion's memory manipulation trick or merely deceit, the decisions and actions of the AU's top brasses are beyond stupid. It's a no-win situation. This is why I've always said that memory manipulation is very very very hard to execute correctly. It's a very dangerous narrative device that if used recklessly (like in this story) it could break your story's logic, immersion, and believability into pieces. If I were the writer of this show, I'd rather write a simple yet logically solid and consistent story, like Fourze, than even think of touching that dangerous weapon that would mess up the story. |
