I ordered two items at mandarake, and checked both of them as *cancel whole order if this item is out of stock* today i got an order confirmation despite the fact that one of the items sold out.
I contacted them about this, but I was wondering if somebody has gone through something similar. |
That's what I would expect to happen, actually.
It would appear that they interpret multiples of the boxes checked as cancel the entire order if ANY of these items are out of stock, not if ALL of the items are out of stock. |
That's the thing, I expected a cancellation, not a payment request for only one of the items.
|
Oh. I misread your email. derp. So maybe they are treating it as an all, rather than an any. Interesting.

It's weird. |
When does HLJ charge for preorders, and how reliable are they?
I haven't actually ordered from them since 2007. |
The Mandarake thing was a simple mistake, both items were in stock but they listed it a x0 accidentally, sent me a new invoice and everything was ok.
Now the waiting game... Quote:
For anything that isn't preorders, they are great. |
Hey guys, quick question. I heard for Mandarake Nakano, they have a really good deal on DHL shipping to the US. How good is that? I have a friend who lives in the US, and wants to buy an SRC that's about $15 from Nakano, and wants to know what DHL shipping would be. Would it be under $15? Thanks.

Anybody know where I could get Faiz's figurise?

Amiami still has pre-orders available surprisingly while HLJ doesn't. http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/det...%24pagecnt%3D1 |

Cool that it's on AmiAmi still. How is their pre-order service? |

And AmiAmi's service is the best for me. No fuss no muss. The only thing with them is no cancellations. That's why everything there sells out so quick usually. They have the lowest prices and they don't charge until stuff is in stock. And even when you choose shipping method when ordering, you can change it right before you pay so if EMS is only a few hundred off of SAL, you can switch it. |
the no cancellations thing can suck when you don't know shipping ahead of time. I've come to love hlj because of that.

For figures that don't run out quickly, they're a good option. |
Well if I go through and get it, it will definitely be a great challenge to make since my modeling skills are still at minipla level. :lol

* Ami has the rigid order policy and most communications with them comes across like you're just bothering them. A few times they did what I asked without even responding to me. I had to log in and see that it had been done * Ami has great discounts (better than HLJ in most cases) but severely overpriced shipping. This might be because they well-pack things into huge boxes, but still, the prices are up there (my last order was for $220 with $95 in shipping via EMS. A similar order @ HLJ cost me $50 to ship via Fedex) * Ami offers order grouping when making new orders, and grouping previous orders when the releases are in the same month, but HLJ has the private warehouse where I order what I want, then ship what I want, when I want. * Going with the last point, HLJ offers more and cheaper shipping options and tells you the prices up front (when ordering or moving from warehouse to shipping). I just personally feel it's a smoother process. * The DX sell-out times are insane, but at least the restocks can be caught if you watch. On the plus for AMI, they carry more product, meeting more needs, and are usually a few bucks cheaper than HLJ. They also have the point system which is cool. Anywho... Not sure if it's the Amazon competition or what, but TRU has a lot on sale right now. Legacy Dragonzord is down to 59: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index...entPage=family I think I'm going to cancel my preorder and reorder. Also: Gosei Great import $59: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index...entPage=family Shinken Oh: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index...entPage=family |
Is there a good resource for buying japanese video games? I want to buy Digimon Story: Lost Evolution and Digimon Story: Super Xros Red Wars / Blue... but I don't want to just use Amazon in case there's a better place.

There's where I split off. I don't do the whole warehouse thing. It's a neat system, but I have trouble waiting that long to have something in hand. I agree the shipping can be a bit high, but they still go by weight. Stuff might cost the same but could be a lot heavier. It would make no sense if 2 boxes of equal weight cost $40 more to ship from AmiAmi than HLJ. The shipping cost ratios are relatively constant between most places based on my 2 years and thousands of dollars worth of orders. xD Quote:

Hlj also uses FedEx and DHL which sometimes gives rates based on volume and not weight.
I see your point re: the warehouse, but I've hit a sell a couple times ordering something small from Ami that ships 2-3 weeks prior to things in a larger order and their system not letting me combine. If it's not an immediate want/need id rather they hold to ship together. |

I've been doing monthly orders at AmiAmi for a year now. So I can sorta wait, but not for a super long time. And I have dealt with the not being able to combine thing. It's all about stock and release dates. A lot of times if I see something pre-owned I want and my current month order has been paid for, I have to wait until the month changes to add it to the next one, running the risk of someone else getting it first. |
Is Ordering from Amazon a good thing?
Because i just did. |
If it's a recent-ish figure, imported by Bluefin, or a reasonably-priced figure, then yes, that's perfectly fine!
I got Blade, Garren and Shining Agito on Amazon, and pre-ordered Chalice there as well. And probably others too. |
Anyone know how big that DX Revolgarry is? Because Jungle just slapped me with a ¥7,300 SAL shipping charge on it. I about had a heart attack.

They definitely got you on this one. I can say the box is fairly large but at that point they should have just said it couldn't ship SAL and sent it EMS. Honestly it would have been cheaper to do so.

I find Jungle, much like any Japanese store, offers you as many great deals shippingwise as it does terrible ones.

Does CSToys list everything that will be activated on Sunday in their New Arrivals section? They had pictures of Diesel Ressha in with their other new stock on their Facebook page, but it isn't on the site. I'm just wondering if it's worth getting up early tomorrow to see if they have them.

I already paid up a Diesel elsewhere. |

Any good deals on Bunpachys?

If they announced having it, it's likely to be there at activation time. |
