Anyway, I love in the first episode when they start arguing over their salaries and Doppu's fake death. I also love later on the introduction of White Racer. lol |
Easily the best moment of Carranger
http://a.imageshack.us/img408/7571/lolzmw.png I'll admit it's gonna be hard to wait for them to finish the series :lol |
ive never had a chance to watch any sentai or kamen rider yet so if anyone knows a great site thats does dubs please mp me
|
Up to the point in Dairanger where Kou and Akomaro have been introduced now, who (Daigo aside) have been by far the most interesting main characters so far. I'm enjoying the series, but its really taking its time to make me care about the other four Dairangers and the rest of the villains.

There are some actual dubs out there, though rare. Dynaman had part of it dubbed years before PR existed (though the dub is trying to make fun of Dynaman). Also, there's a pretty decent dubbing of Kamen Rider Kabuto out there, but it's hard to find and the video quality is crap if you can find it (except the first 2 episodes that someone edited to DVD rips). |
Oh I know that Power Ranger is different, but that's the closest thing that I know to being a dub.

So I'm almost caught up with Garo being on episode 14 of Makai Senki and am trying to decide what to watch next. It will either be Kuuga, GaoGaiGar or a Sentai. The Sentai I'm considering are Shinkenger, Gekiranger (I like Jan from what I've seen of him), Magiranger, Dekaranger and Boukenger which I all want to get to at some point. Which ywould you guys recommend I go with if I choose to watch a Sentai?
|
It's been a moment since I've logged in and just wanted to post I'm trying to catch up with Gokaiger! Some nice people on the site were kind to point me the way on where to watch the show online. Thanks again guys!

Just got up to the first episode with DaiMugen in Dairanger. First thing I noticed was that it has Anguiras' roar. Second thing was that the finishing attack is even more ridiculous than I remember it being in Power Rangers.
I quite like Kameo though. |
I want to be able to download toku (preferably subbed) i find many sites but what's a good one to use I like sentai mainly but am open to kamen rider and other tokusatsu as well. who can make a good recomendation? Also a good site to find toku merch as well. I want to get more active on the toku I have been passive too long!

I'm watching Dekaranger right now, and it's taken about 11 episodes for me to even begin to care about the characters. The villains are all pretty lame, so far, except for this last one I saw. Well, when he's in his human mode. All the suite designs for the villains have be really lame/dumb imo, and they all behave stupidly too, in alienizer form. And I don't really like Dekarobo's design all that much either. I do like the individual vehicle modes though. But I will stick it out farther, because as I said, I'm starting to be interested in the characters. Except I don't like Hoji all that much. Or Ban. And Sen's fairly boring so far. And I don't like the silly stock footage they use to get the suits on. And Doggie Kruger's design is kinda dumb (but I like the character). And what is up with Swan's headpiece? And Sen's gimmick of standing on his head to think is stupid. Why am I watching this show again? I want to watch Boukenger, because I like the mech design, and Shinkenger, because everybody says it's good, and also I like the mech design, but I want to get thru Dekaranger and Gokaiger first. For merch, forums are probably your best bet for convenience, and often price as well. But I've become a big fan of Mandarake since figuring out how to search using Japanese characters (copy/paste from wikipedia), lots more results that way, and they're usually pretty cheap. And I've just started a transaction with one of the middlemen here, trying to get some stuff off Yahoo Japan, which is also only searchable via Japanese. HLJ is pretty good in my experience, and on occasion eBay also works. Lots of people also recommend AmiAmi, I've never used them myself, and BBTS carries some KR stuff, though some of their prices are high, but not all. |
Watched Dekaranger episode 12 tonight.
Um, yeah. It was bad. The worst I've seen so far. Umeko has to babysit some giant mutant duck-baby thing, and it was just, bad. So I thought I'd improve the evening by watching an episode of Gokaiger. I like the pirates, they're good characters. So I watched episode 14, guesting RedRacer from CarRangers. Yikes. Was CarRangers as retarded as this episode was? It was horrifying. I almost turned it off, but my 9 month old woke up, and wanted to sit on my lap for a little while. She was somewhat entertained, probably from all the flashy colors of the costumes. But wow, this was an awful episode. The only good part was when Navi said, "I guess there are some useless Grand Powers." I liked that line. I was tempted to watch GoBusters tonight, as people have said that's good, but I don't know if I dare continue with Sentai, it really might not be my thing. Oh, I did leave Kengo stranded on the moon, guess I can finish that arc of Fourze tonight, to get the horrible taste of Gokaiger 14 out of my mouth. |

Oh definitely, visually I can't fault Dairanger as far as the protagonists and mecha are concerned.
|
Finally finished Shinkenger tonight by watching the final episode... Sentai Tamashii was right, absolutely brilliant ending!
Also wanted to mention, I watched Samurai Sentai Shinkenger Returns: Special Act yesterday, and that was probably the most hilarious thing I've ever seen! :P |
Special Act?

Just watched the last episode of Dairanger, and my thoughts on the series are kinda mixed. Themes, mecha and aesthetics I can't fault as they were all fantastic, but I found the characters to be a little uneven. I dunno if I'd call it development, since all of them seemed to have their characters established straight from the get-go (which bugged me a little, Rin didn't really have much of an introduction at all) but Daigo and Kou had great focus, Ryo and Rin's was pretty good and then Shoji and Kazu didn't seem to do very much at all in comparison.
Same goes for the villains. Akumaro and Shadam (especially towards the end) struck out to me as great villains, but the rest just bored me. Even though he was only in a handful of episodes, Jin pretty much outclassed them all as a character. So yeah, a great series, but I personally didn't find it as amazing as people say it is. The last few episodes were brilliant though, even if that horrible epilogue comes afterward. |
I just finished watching Liveman great show
|
The epilogue to DaiRanger takes time to adjust to. It isn't the best Sentai ending, but after you watch over a dozen series, you start to realize how good of an ending it is.
|
I like the idea behind it, it was just having them reappear 50 years later that completely spoilt it for me. If it'd been done with them just narrating over the footage or something I probably would have really liked it.
It was certainly different though, and yeah perhaps it will sit better with me after repeated viewings. |

It's time for Busters. Episode 5.

I'm trying to watch/continue/finish Gokaiger on overtime but is it me, or is the site not working?

Alright, I'm going to watch a few episodes of Shinkenger tonight. Expecting to like it, as I thought the first episode was good.

Watched 2 and 3 last night, and so far, I'm afraid I quite like it. I just searched Mandarake for the Figuarts, but I"m going to try to control myself (Ha!) and hold off on starting any new teams.
But if anybody has some cheap Figuarts Shinkengers to start me off, I'd be interested. |
I'd at least get Red, since he was mass release (as was Gold) and is a great figure. Sucks that the rest were all exclusives though :lol
Anyway back on topic, Overtime's blu-ray rip of the vs. Gavan movie is out so I think I'll be giving that another watch tonight :) |
Oh hey, that reminds me.
After I'd watched Shinkenger 2 and 3 last night, I wanted to watch an episode of GoBuster. But the subtitles didn't work. I thought I must have somehow downloaded one without subtitles, but I checked episodes I'd already seen, and they weren't displaying subs either. Shinkenger is a TVN release, and GoBuster is OT. I'm using Media Player Classic that OT said I needed to watch their HDs. Any ideas? Did Shinkenger screw up MPC? Or is my computer just being funny? Also, I think the upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 occurred between the last time I watched GoBuster. |

As for OT sub, I suspect that you may not have the most current MPC, and you can get the latest update from CCCP (direct link is at OT). The other thing I can think of is that you must name the MPC file the same as the .A S S (subtitle) file for it to work. OT also has the patch files but I'm not sure if they are integral for the sub to work. |
Might be worth checking if MPC has inadvertently turned the subtitles off itself though (its happened to me a few times). Open a Go-Busters ep and go to Navigate > Subtitle Language and check the box is ticked.
If that doesn't work, checking your codec pack is probably the best bet. Like FieryRed said CCCP will have everything you need. |
