The figures are by no means perfect, but they fill out their price point of $20 very well. They're certainly an upgrade from the Legacy line(mostly).
But yeah if you're expecting, say, Figuarts quality, this ain't it. And it double ain't it at a $20 price point. |

Wave 4!
|
Aaaaand people on Twitter have discovered they used a cosplay photo when showing off Jack’s figure. Hope they didn’t use that photo as a reference for designing the civilian head, or people are going to explode.

Official hi-res images for SPD Red & Blaze!
|
Oh man Jack looks good. If it proves to actually be good on release, then I should be more than happy when they finally release my boy Bridge.
|
Really like how both of these are looking. Super excited to finally get a good Dark Buster figure!
|
Dark Buster/Blaze looks pretty neat, but that SPD Red is where my heart's at. This is a great wave.
Also, an MMPR less wave. Pretty bold there, Hasbro. (Yes I know Rocky is technically an MMPR dude don't @ me). |

SPD Red is definitely the winner of this wave for me. Definitely gonna need that, he's probably my favorite Red after Jason and TJ.

Seriously there a tons of pics of the actor and the picked a cosplayer, |
SPD Red otherwise looks incredible but why does he have silver hands?
|
My guess is when they assigned the color materials, they didn't have to use white. By mistake they added silver. Then the renderer made the silver look bright like white and thus it get's rendered with silver hands.
|
Hoping the rumor of MMPR yellow being cut from the wave isn't true. It'd suck to cancel one of only two girls in the line, as well as one of the original five Rangers
|
Yellow is, for some reason, my favourite design of the MMPRs (something about the helmet just jibes really well for me) and I've been enjoying Trini in Boom's comics so I'd be doubly sad to see her dropped.
That said, when Hasbro announced they were doing an actor headsculpt for each ranger in the line, Trini is one of the characters that came to mind as potentially 'iffy'. Like, would it maybe be seen in bad taste to do that when the actress unfortunately isn't here with us to voice her approval or disapproval of it? That sort of thing. |

Same could be said for Wind Ranger Red Shane! The actors aren't able to give input or reap the rewards. |
Oh hey look at that. MMPR Blue listing for June 2020 out of nowhere

That said, if they were really worried about it, they could just have her unhelmeted head be based off her comic design, or just go without one like they did for Magna Defender. But yeah, that does make one wonder how they'll handle Ninja Storm Red, Mystic Force White, and Dino Charge Silver. |
Though at that point just do Aisha.
I assume DC Silver is a bit of a joke given it was the voice actor. Honestly it might be a long while before they consider doing Udonna. NS Red probably isn't an issue. There might be a debate about poor taste but that's about it. I could see Hasbro being a little more Zack about those faces. |
On the Trini discussion, since Thuy is gone, they could go one of four routes. One, use Thuy's likeness. Two, go all the way old and use Ms. Dubois's face. Three, use Aisha. Four, use Trini from the comics? The fourth option isn't the most ideal, but it would give us a Trini. So would Ms. Dubois, but most people think of Thuy when they think of Trini.
|
Honestly, the big question on my mind is how they're going to handle Wild Force Red...
|
I am kind of bothered by the fact that Blaze's visor lacks that grid/circuit detail that's usually around the left eye. I know this isn't gonna be as high quality as figuarts but it does bother me seeing that noticeable design detail on the official artwork and not see it on the actual figure. Best I can hope for is someone making a clear sticker with the grid detail so I can apply it.
|
Wild Force Red is definitely the other big one that came to mind. And to a smaller extent Overdrive Black (what he did is not really comparable, but he definitely seems like someone they wouldn't want to associate with again). Of course, both of these could be skirted around by just putting off those teams for as long as possible; given the countless other teams out there they could do...

Almost all people think of Thuy when it comes to MMPR Trini. That pilot didn't air on TV until PRIS one time. The 4th option at least get's you an Asian looking face. Overdrive Black again minor. I don't think most potential buyers are even aware. Nothing illegal about it. Wildforce Red is the lion in the room though I think it's a simple bandaid. Just come up with an alternate face and you know don't try to push Cole too much. Though it is a mess with Forever Red pushing that character to the front. Blaze, I'm glad they didn't add the mark. That small area would probably be a mess on quite a few figures. |
I assume theres an estate of sorts for the deceased rangers. If they for some reason dont approve(why wouldnt they?) Then they just don't include an unhelmeted head. Was Coles actor convicted of that murder? I wonder how they would handle that
|

I'm imagining they'll either do a generic Cole likeness or just not include an unhelmeted head. I'm hoping they don't just omit Wild Force Red from the line altogether though, because I love that team. |

I know Fall 2020 was supposedly “confirmed,” but I’m calling full bullshit on that. :lol |

If “fall 2020” was confirmed by the obviously clueless dolt from that interview, I’m gonna pay it no mind. I suppose only time will tell. |

My local Targets are finally starting to carry wave 2. I am so tempted to get Magna Defender. Beast Morphers Red and Gold are tempting too. I do want Kimberly at some point but not jumping at that since MMPR isn't that hard to come by.
|
I know they've apparently been spotted out in the wild already, but according to GameStop Wave 3 hits shelves on the 20th. So 10 days from now. Gonna be keeping an eye out so I can get Drakkon.

Every single thing in that wave excites me oh my god!! MMPR's on its way to getting completed; we're getting a new team; Zeo Gold does get retail release after all; AND MY GIRL IS HERE!! I was so sure Ranger Slayer would be exclusive, so this makes me beyond happy.
Somewhat surprised there's no Beast Morphers stuff, though. Maybe Yellow and Silver will end up being a 2-pack? |
TF has to mean Time Force, right? If so, I'll take whatever you got. Wes, Eric, I'm all in. Zeo Gold is nice to see outside of SDCC-land, but he's not a "must-have" for me. Same with MMPR Blue, even though I do love Billy. Ranger Slayer is a comics thing, so I have no knowledge of her, but more girls, yay, I take back the meme I made the other day.
Also, conformation of MMPR Yellow, after Hasbro seems to have confirmed she's not in the wave she's in. I'm not complaining, I love Yellow's design, and more girls is a good thing, but it's odd. Quote:

Excited for Time Force Red and Ranger Slayer. I've gone all in on this line, but I do fail to see what would make me buy a Zeo Gold single release, when the only change will be having fewer accessories than the 2-pack version.
