The weird thing is that, emotionally? There's some quality work inside these two episodes. I love how the show explicitly says that journeys shouldn't be about the ending, because I don't feel like Tsukasa's journey should ever end. I love how he's Kamen Ride Or Die for his friends. (*wink*) It's a series that's stripped Tsukasa of his claim to heroism, of his past, of any hope he'll be embraced by a world. It left him his friends, though, so he'll risk multiversal destruction to save them. I love all that stuff. Also,
Team DiCade
.
But I feel like they could've told that story and still had time for one single scene of Narutaki saying Here's My Deal? Or one scene of Actual Kenzaki saying Here's Why Decade Is Causing All Of This? But they don't, and it gets more unsatisfying the closer we get to the end credits.

But something concludes.
Yeah, most of my complaints about Kamen Rider follow-ups is that the series resolved so much that you kind of end up in Kuroto Escaped Again territory. (And I like the Ex-Aid movies!) The story was basically finished, but here's some extra micro-conclusions to plots you assumed were over.
Decade is not that! It's a massive, 31-episode arc that goes Hey LOOK It's The Real Kenzaki and then runs away while you're distracted. Super grateful that this was the one and only time in the 19 Heisei series I watched that someone screwed up a finale this bad.
