Very cool, had me at the edge of my seat each time Hiromi was on.
Ver surprising that a Hiromi-focused episode is also when...Kinoshita isn't writing. |

"Demons Driver wasn't meant for you" is such a meta line from George. Maybe we'll soon find out who it was meant for. Oh hey, turns out Demons Driver is also alive and evil and doesn't seem to be acting in Hiromi's interest at all, which means it might not be his own devil, but one that was already sealed. Geez, I just got done with the Spider Undead arc of Blade and now here's another sadistic crazy Driver to deal with. And this one is trying to consume the life of an elderly man! How terrible!
Hiromi's friends, Chigusa and Tatsuhiko, are portrayed by Patren 3's and Unicorn Zodiart's actors respectively. But their alignments have become reversed, as Chigusa is a triple agent for Deadmans, while Tatsuhiko is a really good friend concerned for Hiromi's health. I was worried that Tatsuhiko was about to get eaten by a Giftarian and become the third victim, so it was a relief that Revice appeared when they did after deducting that Chigusa's intel was too convenient. Instead, Olteca sacrificed someone offscreen, presumably another cultist. I like how Ikki reacted unexpectedly to hearing Hiromi's backstory, since it shows that some of his recent character development is sticking. Daiji wanted him to act like his usual ultimate busybody self to stop Hiromi from destroying himself, but Ikki couldn't bring himself to stop someone from choosing to help others. They're the same in that sense and he knows now that he doesn't own the right to self-sacrifice. The old Ikki definitely would have, so it's nice to see that he's starting to see things from other people's perspectives and not getting too caught up in his own. I worry about Daiji though. If something happens to Hiromi, is he going to blame Ikki for that? That would strengthen Kagerou. Genta definitely has a cavity and I'm not talking about the one in his tooth. Hmm, maybe his unique condition would make him a good match for the Demons Driver.

Gotta say tho, they know how to give me goosebumps. Komatsu's still filming for Revice, but the episode preview be saying "Hiromi's final battle!!" so I'm getting bamboozled left and right |

But great episode for everyone imo. Hiromi obviously is the main focal point anf I'm glad that he's getting he's a real underdog and I hope he dosen't die next week. Daiji being worried and 8 Ikki manages to show off his people skills. And Tamaki redemption and I'mexcited to see how Aguleria and Sakura story is going to go in the future.

I'm so worried about Aguilera. Sakura has gotta get through to her and save somehow. She can't let her brother take care of it.
Plus Daiji needs to face Kagero in arc 2, as we haven't seen Kagero's true demon form yet. His form better be like Vice's. Can you imagine a Live vs Evil fight? I never imagined the Demons Driver being like Belt-san. I can just see next month the driver updated with the belt talking for Premium Bandai! Next episode, does Demons use the White Leo & Quetzalcoatlus? |

Will this be our resident Spider Rider's last dance next week? Hope not.
That's twice in a row we're getting a "good guy organization is secretly evil" storyline, right off the heels of Saber. Didn't think we'd be rehashing ideas that quickly. |

Ok so Arc 2 revice is bassically 2 parter but instead MOTW we get Chara of the week spotlight which great concept we don't have spend too much to victim of the week like what Zero one did on tournament arc
As for this episode yes much like Julio's episode this one is the weaker episode but we got some insight that Demons driver actually alive like belt san but Evil actually scrach that his persona kinda remind me of Venom TBH so he can be Evil or Just go Chaotic Good And whats up with George? he really don't care about Hiromi yet last week he care about Ikki, George what are you? LOL Can't wait for next week will this the last dance of KR demons? Lol i just realized Wakabayashi Role is like Uncle ben for Hiromi Last edited by nitraion; 01-23-2022 at 02:15 PM.. |

Hiromi's been a particularly endearing question mark for this series ever since he became Demons, so it's nice to see the show finally getting around to giving him proper time in the spotlight. The thing is, Junya Komatsu gives far and away one of the best performances of the whole cast, but even though I immediately understand why you would refuse to confine him to a bit part, it then becomes of a matter of what exactly his bigger role *is* in Revice's story, and that hasn't been made particularly clear yet.
Really, it's still not clear to me how exactly Hiromi's struggles speak to and connect with the larger themes and narrative, but like any good red and blue arachnid superhero, his life is absolutely miserable literally all the time, and that at least makes room for him to have his own interesting story going on between everything else. Like, this episode is just great, you know? There's big stakes, betrayals, mysteries, twists, and development all over the place for Hiromi, and it's a blast to watch. And hey, because Nobuhiro Mouri can be a darn good writer, the episode still manages to check in on all the other Riders quite nicely while it's at it. I'm especially fond of how Ikki is now releasing Vice with such impunity, which highlights how their relationship is evolving. It's also nice that both of them spend such a big stretch of the fight scene at the end just using their default forms, which I'm obligated to praise, because I'm a huge stickler about that.

Hang in there, Hiromi! Quote:
Unicorn Zodiart was a good performance though, with how he abducted and emotionally tortured JK, telling him he had no friends and that he was going to die all alone. Then Gentarou showed up to prove him wrong, declaring that even though JK was unreliable, he was still worth saving. Quote:
