The fact that Guillermo Del Toro actually calls the monsters "Kaiju" really gives me hope. He really seems to know what he's doing.

I guess I'm the only one that does not find Del Toro to be that good. Every movie I have ever seen of his has had some really good ideas, but either dragged on for too long, did not meet my expectations (such as Pan's Labirynth), or was absolutely terrible to watch (Blade II). The Hellboy movies are probably the only things I think he did good, but even those lost their enjoyability after a few viewings. Anyway, it also made me think of Cloverfield, which was utter garbage. |

In one of the several other threads Den-o made the remark that there would be an outcry of 'It's just a knock off of Transformers and Real Steel!'.
While similarities will be drawn to any film that features cgi robots, I can only hope that this one has a better story to accompany them. |
