Anyone else notice that Dark Orbs little henshin device looks like a stylized pizza cutter?

I just follow Color Timer Subs on Twitter and download the latest ep from their Mega link. Episode 7 is already up for download.

So far, how is R/B?
I'm curious as to whether people think it's good. Been hearing nothing but good things about this show. And are the transformations three minutes long any more (I don't mind long transformations, but they can get a bit annoying)? I'm low key getting a sense of deja vu asking this.... |

Transformation seem to be getting even longer. It's a bit worse since the character transform a couple of times an episode and there are two of them. With 3 crystals now, that's up to 6 transformation sequences per episode. They at least don't make us sit through the same one twice. |

What He/She said /\/\/\/\
Lighthearted, funny at times, very good FX and Miniatures work. Yes the transformation sequence is ….. not short. it actually makes Geeds henshin sequence seem short in comparison. "You go, I go, Here we go,.GEEEEEEEDD!!" and that was pretty much it right? ...yeah this one goes on for a while. Lots of dramatic posing and shot placement of all the different parts of the toys from the case to the coins to the device, to shots of the coins being used, to the device being used.... yeah it's not a short Henshin…..plus there's two of them so...yeah. But the characters are at least amusing. And the "Ultramen fighting Kaiju" sequences are well done. |

I think it's pretty good. The relationship between the brothers is pretty great. It's quite light hearted and not as good as the previous couple of years, but still good in its own right so far.

I've never been one for Ultraman, but I really liked Orb and kinda enjoyed Geed. |

uhh,...I wouldn't say "Fantastic". As a Godzilla fan and someone who really likes seeing miniature cities getting wrecked while Giants and Kaiju flail around beating on each other, I'd say the FX and Miniature work and camera angles (to give a sense of size), is easily just as good as Geed.
The characters and stories so far I'd say are amusing,..light hearted, easy to digest. Maybe I liked Geed so much because he was a Toku fan, (the same reason I love Akibarangers), but Geed got me hooked on the very first episode, I couldn't wait to see more. R/B I'm enjoying. It's fun so far, … amusing. I'm not 'hooked' on it like I was with Geed and some other Ultra series (like Max or Mebius or Nexus). But it's good. It's easy to watch and fun to watch while you're watching it. ...I dont' want to oversell it but I don't want to undersell it either. The miniature work and camera work though I think is fantastic. Just as good as Geed. If it's the same exact people and crew that did the SPFX work for Geed I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised. Geed had fantastic FX and camera angles too. The Ultraman shows have really gotten a lot better about selling the idea of scale and size and making the guys look like GIANTS and not just guys in costumes on a soundstage. |

Honestly I'm finding it pretty okay at best. It's enjoyable, but there's really nothing that leaps out to me like there was for X, Orb and Geed (or Original, Seven and Jack for that matter...).
I feel like I'm underselling it a bit because visually Ultra at "okay" is still fantastic, but I dunno. It just hasn't quite clicked with me yet. That could be partly down to the piecemeal way I'm watching it though.

Wow. Episode 8 is straight up genius. I mean, that report card gag alone is A+ material and they don't even show it long enough to read without pausing.
Honestly, the idea that R/B isn't as good as the past couple shows we've gotten is getting harder and harder for me to swallow. We'll see if it keeps up this kind of excellence, but at this point I think it's pretty unfair to write off R/B as being of a lesser quality than something like Geed just because it isn't as dramatic.
