Just saw the first episode, and I was expecting something something like SSSS Gridman's first episode, but boy did they prove me wrong.
It's always that first fight scene that just magnificently sells it to me, it's much like Gridman's but cranked up a couple notches to make a real spectacle. But as expected, the cast is introduced in a rather mundane, dull, everyday life style, and then WHAM!, something comes out right out of left field. I'm glad there weren't any long pauses like with Gridman, which I really like. I'm already in love with Dynazenon, and would love to get a figure of, including Gridman, and I think Gauma might become my favorite character. |

Dynazenon was pretty neat. I don't have much thoughts on the episode itself but I really liked what I saw.
Gauma so far is the big standout character, love him a lot. |

Definitely feels like Dynazenon has 2-3 more forms! Excited to see what's next, especially what's up with Yume.

I liked the first episode a lot. The storytelling through showing instead of explaining is what I really dig about Gridman as well as Dynazenon. You can already get a good glimpse about what's Minami's deal, and the worries of other characters are also just displayed in the open instead of characters just randomly explaining stuff.
The action sequence was good, I really like Dyna Rex. But now I do wonder how this world will work, where the monsters come from, where Dynazenon comes from and if this takes place in the same universe as Gridman. I would be disappointed if it's just a virtual world yet again. Yeah there’s definitely more. There's a core, smaller dragon inside both Dynazenon and Dyna Rex (maybe the OG Dyna Dragon?) and the tail of Dyna Rex is already a buggy. |

Tsuburaya uploaded Dyna Dragon's debut episode in Gridman at the same time. Mmm, synergy.
I really liked the first episode. Unmistakably a follow-up to SSSS.Gridman. I look forward to seeing these characters work through their issues with the power of friendship and also a giant robot. Speaking of, man, Dynazenon is a really cool looking robot. I hope all the individual components (there's a smaller robot inside???) get to do stuff. I would assume they will since Dynazenon has 4 pilots, but 3 of them don't seem to do anything? |

I've been enjoying Dynazenon so far. The straight up toy approach is entertaining.
For a lot of these Trigger shows, it's becoming a game to see where they have saved animation and sequence time! So far the relationship, if any, between the two shows has not been made apparent. I was really blown away by Gridman's ending and the more I think about it, the more I like it. As a fun aside, I ordered a mystery box of Nendoroid figures from GoodSmile's recent summer sale and I got Rikka Takarada! By far my favorite character from Gridman. Super lucky!

I really enjoy this opening a lot.
I'm also enjoying Dynazenon a lot more than I thought. Both as a show and as a robot. The show continues it's slow pace but we're building to somewhere and we've actually got a proper meeting between our heroes and villains right at the end of Episode 2. I also enjoy the idea of training with the vehicles as well as just seeing them in more mundane situations, which is real nice. Gauma also continues to be a delight. Now onto the robot, seeing Dynazenon I took him at face value and just went "Hey cool robot" and didn't really seem too interested in how the fights would go. At the time I was looking at the whole robot and not noticing like the clear bits that seemed like they could be something else. But then we got the end of episode 1 where we get the cool recombination sequence into Dyna Dragon, and then showcasing in this episode how we've got a smaller robot in the center that can do different combinations with the different units. I'm really digging it, gives me a real big Super Robot/Brave vibe and I'm loving every second of it! |
