Insults were used in poor taste to discuss the topic at hand. It's not worth repeating.
One should always be mindful of the words you use, and how they may affect others, especially in shared-interest communities.

I didn't see what happened, but based on the mod message and the direction past comments were heading, I think it's fairly easy to put together. Let's all just move on and get back to the topic at hand.
Anyways, I'm hoping that they're doing this because they want to bring it over officially. Not that this is necessarily an indication of that, but they've been bringing stuff over lately so they could be planning more. edit: They've been bringing stuff over to the US the past few years. Zero-One has an official blu-ray release, bluefin is distributing the toys, and Amazons was officially licensed to stream. If they wanted to expand upon that, it makes sense that they'd want to stop unofficial releases that could lower official sales. Nobody claimed anybody was owed anything.

Being an anime fan I'd say this is nothing new. Anime companies always came to knock down pirated version, groups disbanded, terminated or chose to stop. There was also the times when fansubbers would just stop and/or delete their files when something they've worked on got licensed. Many instances of fear mongering when new copyright laws are implemented, Torrent share sites shut down, yet it still keeps going. One fansubber goes down? A new one takes their place. Site down? A clone or replacement is made. It's a never ending cycle no matter how many rules they make or how many sites they terminate.

Unfortunately the only Sentai shows that are available for international streaming are the ones licensed by Shout found here: https://www.shoutfactorytv.com/tv/tokushoutsu
If only they kept up releasing more Sentai shows this issue wouldn't be that big for Sentai. |

As much as it seems to be a step in the right direction, just putting two episodes of each Kamen Riders doesn't mean much.
To go in the right direction they should at least throw a bone at us, the viewers and release on youtube one full season of their choice. I don't know but sometimes I feel like some japanese don't see the western audience in a good way... |

Indeed. Toei should have taken a hint from Tsuburaya LONG time ago. It has already been how many years? And their Toei World channel? A disappointment. Just feels cluttered and bloated. As much as it is a step in the right direction I feel like they are doing it out of obligatory reasons and to shut people up rather than actually putting care into it cause they already have a VIP club of sorts with TTFC for the domestic fans and the Toei World channel feels like a buffet of leftovers for a lack of comparison.
TsuPro has the right mindset regarding distribution with Mill Creek and belch things out far quicker and with much greater detail and honestly more exposure cause I still see Ultra Sets in Best Buy! On top of that, Mill went out and made a retroactive deal with SHOUT! to go even further. You don't actually have to buy the Mill-Released Ultra Sets to watch them (but it's better to buy them when you can)! I believe the "Big Six" (Hasbro, Toei, TsuPro, Team Rider, SHOUT!, and Mill Creek) should organize as a formal coalition to address this in greater detail with representatives of each acting on behalf of the Six to hammer out some kind of joint distribution package. Make this easier for everyone so that those who can't seem to make things work have the boost they need. I know Toei and TsuPro are rigid competitors, but I also don't think Toei wants to see TsuPro dominate the West with Ultraman while they trickle out Riders at a snail's pace while simultaneously letting Hasbro play with the Rangers. Regarding my original thoughts on the subject, with a little selective copying here and some pasting there... "What I really want to see is more corporation between everyone involved. Hasbro, SHOUT!, Team Rider, Mill Creek, Toei, and Tsuburaya! I know that's realistically unfeasible cause of the financial and corporate competition between Toei and Tsuburaya, but it's honestly what's needed if everyone is to survive and go home satisfied...When international travel restrictions let up as cases go down, I want representatives from the aforementioned "Big Six" to get in a room and sit the hell down and hammer out some kind of agreement to make sure that everyone gets a slice of pie here and there and everywhere...I believe that TsuPro has a stake in this fight cause Tokusatsu distribution in the West is something they're clearly invested in now. On top of that, they have a different mindset and made a far superior distribution deal with Mill Creek, who in turn made a deal with SHOUT! and now you can stream virtually every Ultra that Mill has released to disc! Toei needs to consult with TsuPro to determine a more optimal business model with the West, and since Power Rangers is still the method of Sentai Distribution in the West, that means Hasbro has a stake in this as well. That's why I want the "Big Six" in a room together, because even when the argument doesn't relate to one of them specifically, it relates to all of them indirectly." |
