I doubt Hasbro will do any Kamen Rider Adaptions. Since they stop doing Future PR Adaptions.

Too bad, no one takes live action dubbing seriously. That's why Asian and non English speaking movies get remade with American actors. Movies like Train to Busan has a english dub, but they are still remaking it for Americans. I feel like the only way for people to take KR seriously if they did their own original American Kamen Rider. The Legendary Pictures Godzilla movies help people take Godzilla more seriously after being a joke for decades.

I'm afraid I think that outside the US there may be people that would take a US adaptation less seriously whereas even things like the DiC Sailor Moon dub didn't change the actual overall content in quite the same way, I realise that some people could also have the opposite opinion but there doesn't seem to be a perfect solution!

Hasbro would have some trouble getting Toei to license them Rider, seeing as Shirakura mockingly said they'll get "payback" for Masked Rider being a flop
https://variety.com/2021/film/global...er-1235009716/ For the sake of argument, I could see Hasbro going safe and choosing a series that isn't abundant with collectible gimmicks. I feel Hasbro is more interested in doing figures and role play gear than gimmicky items. The way they approached the RyuSouls feels like an afterthought by not making them flippable or even bothering to make the power-up keys I think you can make a solid figure line out of W, OOO, and maybe even Build by focusing on the mix-and-match aspect of the suits as a selling point. Pack the Memories or Medals with the figures the way the Dino Fury sets come with the keys. W even has a couple different vehicles which Hasbro likes to do from time to time. Can't really imagine Hasbro touching Phase 1 because of the outdated video quality, unless they really want to go through the trouble of making everything from scratch |

Build would be more suitable as the first rider series in US/Canada. As for Revice, since the Vistamp are based on legacy riders mixed with animals & Dinos, don't see any point in making shows for Decade, W/Double, Den-O, Faiz, Kuuga, Ex-Aid, Fourze, Gaim & Zi-O. Except Decade & Zi-O would be good for crossover events, when the multiverse is in trouble as well as the timeline in crisis. |

The thing with Drive is, you only know he's a cop by watching the show. None of his suits or weapons are police themed. This detail can be easily written around, since toku adaptations are hardly ever one-to-one

But yeah no even with that Drive aesthetic doesn't tell you the show has cops in it. Since you can just easily make a Drive adaptation focus exclusively just about cars instead. And that one of the cars for his powers is based off a police car.

I mean, if drive weren't a cop what would he be? his entire identity is the fact he's a cop and it's referenced a lot via his fighting style, personality, and mannerisms.
drive being a cop was one of the coolest and unique things about his series. I'm sure you could fuck around with that if you really wanted to but you take away all of the appeal of drive. you might as well fuck with another series if you're going to go that far. |
