The thing here is that Sentai is meant to be marketed to Japanese kids. They usually like the said stuff and it's been going on ever since. IMO it's mostly because it's the Western Audiences that get pissed about these seasons. Japanese fans might have no problem with that while we at the West get paranoid the next time these kinds of characters show up. Sentai in my personal view is viewed as a show about teamwork, about growing together with other people and doing it together to beat the main conflict. Personally, I would rather watch a group of misfits growing to become better by themselves rather than just watch one do it himself. It's like in professional MOBA teams where everyone plays a part in trying to win, and not just having one guy do all the dirty work. If the team starts transitioning from a balanced team to one where Red is playing team carry in late game while he has 4 supports then Im going to drop it and say Sentai is done. Though if it does get successful, it's mostly going to be the Western fans who are giving the bad impression onto the series.

I don't want to get too excited but the fact that there isn't any CGI in those mech scenes piques my interest.
