I think the huge success of the Legacy line has gotten to their heads really. The Morphers, Megazord and Dragonzord were all decently priced, but this guy at $200 and (to a lesser extent) the action figures at $18, to me, makes me think they're trying to see just how much collectors are willing to go for their dose of MMPR nostalgia.

Which makes sense. Want to try out a Collector-oriented line AND make a good profit? Experiment with price on the most iconic stuff and then fine tune for later releases.

Slightly off-topic but related, how is the plastic on the Legacy releases? For example, does the Megazord use the same type of plastic as the 2010 MMPR version or is it better?
I'm just wondering if, having these price tags, the plastic is at least of Bandai of Japan quality.

The plastic on the Legacy Megazord is nigh identical to that of the 2010. There's just additional diecast in place of some of it. I find it to be rather lightweight but tolerable.
