So Ollie's one of those people who are obsessed with replacing their technology the moment it becomes even a little obsolete. I mean, let's be real here, it's not worth the time or money for such trivial gain! Of course, that's a personal choice, but it's still important to honor your obligations to your friends first and it's nice that he gave his headphones to Javi who stands to benefit more from them. Pretty smart how Ollie calculated the number of gumballs though, since they were all different sizes. I have no idea how he did that so quickly. My guess was way off! The Gold Ranger's here as well and I think his debut is an improvement over Ryusoul Gold's, since the thunder elemental power is established as part of his suit rather than the Electro Battle Armor. That's what I took away from Dr. Akana's hypothesis anyway. Amelia's smug eyebrow quirk really sold her one-liner. 16: Aiyon sure thinks highly of himself. He teleports in to the base and promptly declares himself the new leader, deeming Zayto unfit. It wasn't funny when Daggeron did it and it's not funny now either. However, Zayto was keeping a secret from his team similar to Jayden, that his error of judgement contributed to the Sporix's destruction of Rafkon. Unfortunately, being a leader means having to make tough calls in the heat of the moment and they're not always going to be correct, which Aiyon learns when Wreckmate (clever name referring to checkmate and first mate, but his voice is annoyingly stereotypical and I'm glad he's not sticking around) is about to blow them up. Solon shows her skills as a mentor once more, encouraging Zayto to own up to his mistakes and have faith in his friends to forgive him. No matter how many times you fail, you can always learn from it and become wiser and stronger. 17: Wow, Aiyon is a very flawed character who has no idea how to do the whole superhero thing. Surely charity and generosity would be taught as part of the Rafkon Knight Code of Chivalry? I was expecting this from one of the human Rangers. Well I guess it's never too late to learn about that, especially since it really fits the knight motif. At least he doesn't have Canalo's unhealthy dating obsession. Not yet. I can see why Zayto was given a higher rank than him, since Aiyon doesn't really live up to the ideals of a knight, which is something he'll need to learn. Javi pumps his Chroma Fury Saber 6 times instead of 4 to activate the Invisi Key, for some reason. Is that some kind of extra feature in the merchandise I don't know about, or he was just extra excited? 18: Ultrazord time! Aesthetically, this is my favorite combination in the show (although my favorite individual Zord in the show is coming next season). It makes efficient use of the plug port gimmick and adds the Mosa Razor Zord parts to the already awesome T-Rex Blazing Megazord to create a fusion of the fire, thunder and water elemental powers. The moral that Izzy learns here is simple but decent, that exaggerating one's capability to others can result in being placed in impossible situations and that practical experience is generally more useful than theory when it counts. And it's all thanks to Solon's mentoring skills and Ollie's excellent teaching. Interesting how Episode 18 is aligned between Ryusoulger and Dino Fury.

Ryu 35
The Rangers passed their trials and have formed King Rex Knight mode. I wonder if the Dino Fury Rangers will face a trial to next level their powers as well next year.

Okay, we got a generic trite "be yourself" moral going here and a body swap plot that's ironically totally unrelated to said moral and does the voiceover thing I don't care for. It's not doing anything smart like the recent Zenkaiger Episode 32. But the comedy is the best, so I enjoyed it! Most of it surprisingly comes from Aiyon, like his one-liner about car insurance, doing a roll call as a pigeon (you read that right) and Zayto's deadpan reaction to his advice about not eating worms. There's some strange logic with the Rangers' connection to the Morphin' Grid that causes them to have the same suit actors and Amelia in Zayto's body to have a skirt, but it kinds of makes sense when I consider the Grid's power to change certain features like that. 20: Why does Amelia always have the best one-liners, expressions and reactions to the villains' apparent screw-ups? She sure wasn't pulling any punches against the revived Boomtower here! Second place; Zayto, for his patronizing response to Mucus. As for the plot, Zayto and Aiyon go to Planet Nibryo to find the Light and Shadow Raptor Zords, but get attacked by the Knightmares, illusions of their old team cast by Nibryo's magical guardian orb. I'm not sure why this random planet has a magical guardian orb but okay. This is Aiyon's best showing yet, with him having grown up a little and figuring out how to solve the Knightmare problem all on his own. That solution was to stop fighting them, both figuratively and literally, remember their friendship and say their awesome chivalry of knights catchphrase, which is something I always wanted to hear! 21: I recall being super impressed with all these cool action sequences in Ryusoulger and I think they're perfect for a climactic season finale. We got the debut of T-Rex Cosmic Megazord fighting Reaghoul in the cosmic gate to rescue Dr. Akana. Amelia getting to deal the finishing blow to Boomtower. That's merely adapting the footage, but after she debuted the first Battle Armor way back in Episode 11, this show has been really good to her. This isn't even her focus episode, but hey, it's appreciated. While Zayto gets to show off at the start, it's Ollie who has to save the day by destroying Dinohenge after the others get caught in Void Knight's trap (hence the title of this episode) to revive his gf, resulting in the Rangers' reluctant identity reveal to Dr. Akana after losing connection to the Grid. I was expecting this eventually, but not for the season finale. I liked it though. Seems like Void's gone, but I got a feeling he'll be back. The Grid connection is back anyway, thanks to the mysterious Green Morphin' Master showing up again, working her magic to restore Dinohenge and totally ignoring Zayto's question about Rafkon, but I guess it's not her job to give him an answer. This leaves me wondering what her deal is, since she's one of the most powerful beings in the universe and she clearly has an interest in their conflict. 22: Mucus and Slyther are still around after escaping from the cosmic gate, so now they're going to try and ruin Christmas in the most entertaining way possible! Being a Ranger is pretty sweet this time of year, getting to be best buds with Santa. Javi might have taken his advice a little too literally with the unwearable gloves he got for Solon, but his heart was in the right place. Sometimes it's hard to get people surprise gifts, since part of the surprise is that it has to be something they're not expecting and you have to think of different and new gifts they will like every year. But Javi and Solon getting to spend some time together unwrapping presents while looking for a bomb brought them closer together. Truly the spirit of the holiday! Dino Fury Season 1 was awesome, fresh, innovative and honestly, the best PR I've seen in a long while, maybe since Samurai! Looking forward to seeing what's going on with these Morphin' Masters now that they're no longer just a part of the lore and actually have a significant presence in the show. Lord Zedd may or may not be plotting in the background as well and I think the former is very likely, since he has an empire to rebuild and probably wants revenge on both sides for what happened to him.

I finished Ryu and in regards to Dino Fury it was a strong first half. That was good how Dino Fury handled the portal.
