The more I watch Micchi, the more I love him and how his character's evolved since his introduction.
While his drive to two-time both sides is said to be his connection with his friends and not wanting to see them suffer, you can tell the main drive is his feelings for Mai. I can see his whole "Do it for Mai's sake" mindset leading him down a self-destructive path. He's definitely a character that most likely isn't going to still be alive in the final episode. I'll be shocked if he survives the entire way. The way i see the show is that we have 3 ideals and 4 main characters who will be fighting to prove their ideals : Micchy/Takatora : The end justiFAIZ the means. Kaito : Only the strong deserves to live. Kouta : Will refuse both extremes and decides to fight the way he thinks is right. I think Micchy wouldn't die until the very end , Takatora on the other hand keeps raising death flags each episode. Betrayal is surely imminent.

While not as good as last week's episode, this was still pretty good. Very nice follow up to the bomb shell that was dropped last episode.
Really like seeing how Micchy gets out of tough situations involving where he stands with either factoin. Some people may find it annoying, but I find it rather interesting. He lurks in the shadows and moves carefully making sure he doesn't let anyone find out where his loyalty lies... But seriously, guy needs to make up his mind sooner or later. Also, Sigurd was pretty damn scary here. He's easily my favorite of the energy riders... aside from the obvious one. |

Hmmm, yeah. Remember when back when they killed off Hase and I said I didn't think they could sustain things much longer? The ball is officially... not dropped per say, but slackened I supposed. Ramping up the drama and sustaining the epicness of the show are two totally different things for me.
Way more in the way of drama and backstabbing, yes, but the pacing was off this week. Micchi's duplicity officially feels one episode too long now as does Kouta's constant .... whatever it is he's doing right now or rather has been doing for what feels like ten episodes. I understand it, it's all backed up by the story, but something was missing from this episode. Not as fun? Lack of action? By which I mean characters actively shifting the plot along. There was a little bit in the form of Kaito searching around Helheim and the photos and such, but that was barely 1 minute out 20. I can appreciate what our writer supreme is doing here (same thing he usually does I suppose), but not sure how to feel about this episode. Gaim is in danger of languishing in doubt, wallowing in pitty and becoming way too grim for it's own good. It's not there yet, but I'm watching it carefully... |

Ok, so I decided to give Gaim another go and watch from where I left off, I'm all caught up now and WOW SO much intrigue happening it's crazy especially in this episode. The amount of stuff they've packed into this one is insane...
Damn you Micchi, just damn you...just pick a damn side fool! Absolutely no spine AT ALL, SO frustrating...smh... Also, it's almost halfway into the series and Kouta still is in his naivete state...extremely unnerving, but I understand why though. Very interested to seeing what happens and where they go with Kaito and his resolve. Seeing Sid in a full-on battle was pretty nice too. Looking forward to Gaim 22 for sure! I too have to add this...dayummm Yoko Minato, yo' legs are on FIYAH! Lol. |

Looking back in the very first episode where Gaim and Baron are to have a all out battle really gives me different take of what "if" now, due to Kaito see inves that has intelligence.

The plot thickens! I loved the episode =) I wish it had more Zack but still it was awesome to see him and Micchi Rider kick together. I absolutely love Kouta though he is awesome.

So after the bomb shell that dropped last week, Sid drops another one. Yggdrasil is just there to cover up the Helheim forest, and Zawame City is expendable. I had a feeling that fancy tower had a purpose, but I didn't expect it to be a weapon that could raze the city if things got out of hand. Speaking of Sid, I like how his rolling luggage can serve as an impromtu seat . We finally get to see a nice all out battle between Kouta and Side and Kouta wins and gets the Cherry Energy Lock Seed. Mitchy's playing both sides is starting to be worn thin. I don't know how much longer he can keep up his act. And then Kaito is exploring Helheim and has discovered an intelligent Inves. I wonder what that thing is up to.
Edit: Also, have to wonder what this Project Ark is. Last edited by MidoGreen; 03-17-2014 at 03:46 PM.. |
