Shinkocchou Seihou: Shinkocchou translates to bone carving, while Seihou refers to "manufacturing method." Some people prefer to refer to it as Shinkocchou primarily as the first word is more defining than the second, thus ShinKoCchou -> SKC. While it's not official, you also see other people refer to them by shorthand as other terms as well, so I don't think it's particularly dumb.
Literally (SKC,which sounds like someone describing the SIC name) it’s mad incorrect. English rules don’t change from country to country like this. I know why some 3rd party manufacturers use it, to avoid Bandai bringing the legal hammer down, so they do what you said(make it up from 1st word then wink-wink) but it’s still wrong in the literary context |

Shinkocchou and Seihou aren't English words, DH2.

Not to mention that with how Japanese works, I think each syllable on its own can be its own word, too.
Like Japanese abbreviations most likely work differently from English abbreviations. Also, SS commonly is associated with the Schutzstaffel, a paramilitary organization that was part of Hitler's regime, so I think some Westerners are a little hesitant to use SS for something very unrelated. And let’s not forget the dragon ball community where SSJ is the abbreviation for Super Saiyan (Saiyajin). Saiyajin is one word where Saiya is a rearranging of the word for vegetable (yasai) and jin meaning man or person. But we still abbreviate that word to SJ for Saiyajin instead of just writing S.
Anyway, I could never trust myself to spell the shinkocchou word, so I would call em SS or Seihous if I had to. |

That's great! I also secured one just to be safe but where was the last time that the price of a general released SS skyrocketed after release? most of them just stayed flat if not drop significantly

But there should be a US release of the Gaim figures going up for preorder any day now. Might secure an amazon preorder of those too, lol. |

I already preordered through amiami. Is it possible for them not to honor the preorder as it seems they will only take payment when it is ready to ship? I never preordered with them but I have heard some bad stories on other sites where they sometimes cancelled preorder with no reasons.
