I'm thinking about watching one of two Power Rangers seasons.
The first one being Power Rangers SPD. The second one being RPM. Which one do you recommend I watch first? SPD or RPM? |

Power Rangers RPM.
Here's the issues with both seasons. Power Rangers S.P.D. Problems The season starts out strong - you have an incomplete team of 3 who then get 2 forcefully added on and the team has to learn to mesh together. Add in the awesome parts of Doggie Kruger and you have a strong, strong beginning. Then the Omega Ranger happens. And the awkward attempts at team ups with Power Rangers Dino Thunder. And while there's one or two really shining stories in the middle part of the season, it suffers from "budget shortfall", where it literally feels like they had to make episodes simply to fill a quota. The end of the season wraps up things you don't see again since the first episode of the season, and adds a major character literally in the 2nd to last episode of the series that unfortunately repeats that pattern in the following seasons (Mystic Force, Jungle Fury ... Operation Overdrive didn't do it surprisingly). Power Rangers R.P.M. There's some characters in the show that people hate - Summer for being what they call a "Mary Sue" type of character. People hate Ziggy for being awkward and for trying to be funny. They hate Dillon for being the stereotypical badass. Gem and Gemma ... you have to learn to love them and if you haven't seen it you'll understand why when you watch it. Koichi Sakamoto also discovered shaky cam this season, so every single fight has shaky camera syndrome. Theme song is weak (so much so that they don't ever use it in Megazord fights). Some people hate it because it tries to take itself so seriously (a post apocalyptic Earth with Power Rangers). Frankly, I think people hate on it because it's just popular to hate on something so many people liked. "My opinion will stand out and I will be noticed if I go against the grain" syndrome. I'm sure some dislike it for very valid reasons, but a lot of the "OMG SO OVERRATED" are the same people that feel "Super Megaforce" was awesome because of New Powers and horribly written scripts.

With RPM, once you start it, it becomes addicting. You end up wishing there was more in the season. I recall going through what I call and RPM Hangover after I finished the season.

I would personally say watch both because they are boss and both have amazing stories but if I had to choose which one to watch first I'd say SPD because it was unique, action packed, and the red ranger is natural born snarky b.a leader. Plus he has dreadlocks and duel pistols. Rpm is good and most of the same it's just I would save that for last because post apocalyptic stuff is usually cool. P.s both red rangers are black and I love that about both series because I am a black guy.

If I had to pick 3: Lightspeed, Time Force and Jungle Fury.

I suggest Mighty Morphin, but since it's off the table, I say watch S.P.D.

RPM, it's terrific. I have no serious complaints about that show. Honestly if the only complaint I have is that it's not in widescreen HD, it shows how much I love it.

They're both fantastic series, so flip a coin. Then after you're done watching the winner of the coin flip, go watch the other one. No is no losing here.

I recommend both but RPM is the better season. Honestly I'd say its the best Disney season. Seeing the power rangers in a post apocalyptic world just worked really well.
