Oh jeez, Decade, don't watch Hibiki. The beginning is an absolute masterpiece and then then end just gets thrown to the dogs because lolwriterchange.
it makes me so sad because hibiki was so fantastic. But yeah, the ending made me angry. I was so pumped and then I had to wait AGES for that movie to come out on DVD so it could be subbed. Months of silent weeping. |

And this is why i always tell everyone to stop watching Hibiki after episode 29. The ending, while not objectively crap, is such a letdown after how great it is up to that point. But I would definitely say that everyone needs to watch the first 29 episodes of Hibiki - you're really missing out if you don't. |

Decade was my introduction to the series. Decade complete form is still my favorite looking Rider I've seen.
Sure the ending was a great big WTF, and I still haven't had the chance to watch the movies yet. But I love Decade. |

GAH! Decade. endless goodwill built up in the first 3 minutes and then WASTED. alternate worlds, recast characters, meandering plot....and conclusive proof that sentai monsters are stronger than Rider monsters. just terrible.
But it was followed by W which was darn near perfection.

Since every thread needs a good dose of cynicism
I absolutely rank this as the worst Rider show I've seen. It is so tied up in fanwank fanwank fanwank, it ran out of ideas by episode 20, scraped together a couple of showa riders and a sentai (which are admittedly includes the best episodes...god bless you Black). Oh, and a world where the Blade movie riders are somehow important. It ended on a bad cliff hanger. It has awful movies thrown in, near Kiva movie bad, which are so fanwank/Gary sue, they actually destroy the fanwank/Gary Sue continuums (the Movie Wars does get a plus one bonus for the glorious Begins Night/Alternate Skull scene). The concept of a story about someone who exists through other peoples stories is an interesting concept. But not one to carry 30 episodes on...30 eps...they couldn't even get a whole series out of it. Not only that but not one of the new characters is interesting. I don't get the point of the girl or the grandad (or the universe hopping photo studio for that matter), Diend is a decent concept who just never got me...and Decade...Tsukasa isn't a bad character because he's a dick...he's a bad character, who pretends to be a git, but is actually a boring, over moralising character...with no character. And emotahair, the hair that changes to suit your feelings. And a bad actor. And his final form is hideous. And he's got the worst movie exclusive form ever. Lighter colour and angry eyes...and where the hell did he get Violent emotion from anyway...and where the hell did it go when he was revived...and why the hell is it back in the Sentai crossover images...and what the hell was with the idea he started Super Shocker...which had zero significance beyond explaining his powers...GAH!!!! Honestly dreading the new crossover as, beyond the fact I'm not a crossovers man and I don't particularly like the move towards Riders existing in the same universe, I prefer the individual universes (note how OOO creators literally came out and said "there's two OOO, one in the main universe and one in the Double Universe...and then made a third for the Let's Go movie). I don't like how, outside a series, knowing other riders MIGHT exist in a universe screws things up a little for me. I'm dreading it cause it's going to try and make sense of all the stupid crap Decade did...you don't make sense of this crap...you leave it be...because it's stupid crap. AND another thing! *is gagged and dragged away* Quote:

While my love has decreased for the show after each previous Hesiei Show I watch(After I finish a show I go back and watch the respective Decade episodes), I still love the designs, music and the main characters and still enjoy watching it every now and then.

Decade was my first rider series and even though it was off the wall like many have said, I enjoyed it. Sure the cliffhanger ending made me go NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO and had me waiting until War 2010 came out, only to read on Wikipedia that the originally planned ending was changed, but still. It was fun and it did its main thing, which was to celebrate the 10th Heisei Rider.
Only thing that bothered me about the series was Narutaki in War 2010, its like he changed character completely. In Dai-Shocker he was anti Decade, yet he was also Anti-Shocker as we also see when the Amazon episodes aired. And out of honor of Decade returning to the Big Screen, I will be watching his series again.
