After finishing my re-watch of Lost Galaxy I thought I'd finally sit down and start Gingaman. And I must say, five episodes in and I am very impressed.
I really like the story they set up and the legendary feel it has. The whole cycle story is a fun touch and it works well in a fantastical setting. I'm curious though if they'll ever be an explanation as to why the group was chosen to be the Gingaman, and if only they can utilize Earth Power. I'm really digging the villains too. I love their backstory and the whole clan dynamic. To be honest though it's taking a while to get use to Sambash considering I'm so use to Villemax. The others seem the same as their Ranger counterparts but Sambash is such the opposite, little odd to get use to. The characters are very nice as well. Across the line. Yes some of them don't really have full blown identities (Yuuta, Saya, and Gouki being the big three examples for me so far), however for those with full identities they work well. If I had to pick a favorite so far, I'd say Hayate simply based on I like his outfit, and the green suit was always my favorite of the rangers in Lost Galaxy. However the one big thing I appreciate in the show so far is taking the time to explain everything. There's a reasoning for what the villains are doing on a weekly basis, there's an actual backstory to the Kiba Blades. Compared to Lost Galaxy where the show would just throw stuff at you without any real knowledge given to the viewer, Gingaman is doing leaps and bounds better than it's American counterpart, and only five episodes in. I am definitely loving Gingaman so far and can't wait to watch more. That saxophone makes love to your eardrums! |

Don't even get me started on that ending theme. I love it and want to own it, badly.

I guess I'm the only one that does not care for the ending theme to Gingaman.
Anyway, I watched episodes 19-23 of Oh, which are the first four episodes with Red Puncher. I was really hoping having subs would improve these episodes as it has done with others, but my god, nope, it made these episodes worse. |

I'm still watching Kyoryuger. It's the first Sentai series I began watching. I just don't get to watch that often so months later I'm only at episode 40. I've peeked into other series as well, like ToQger and Zyuranger. Still so far Kyoryuger is my favorite series. I'm so invested in the characters it's insane. It's way better than what they're doing with Dino Charge even though Dino Charge does have its own positive points.
I want to get started with a Kamen Rider series too but I have to decide what series I want to start with. I'm thinking OOO, or Wizard and save Gaim for later. Last edited by mattboy115; 04-08-2015 at 01:53 PM.. |

Glad you like Kyoryuger so much! It's such a fun series.
OOO is a good show to start Kamen Rider with. It was my first series, too. Wizard is kinda hard to sit through so I wouldn't say it's a very good starting point. So yeah, go with OOO! |

Don't go with Wizard. it's got its good points, but it drags from having a missing protagonist and lots of filler in the middle acts that add to nothing. OOO is a great place to start though!

I was actually watching Kuuga for a while but one of my friends said not to start there. He was right. It's a pretty slow moving series. I will watch it at some point. Just not right away.

OOO is high energy! but I haven't really seen much of it (weird since it's what got me into the whole thing). I personally really loved Wizard, but it seems to be iffy with people so I don't know. Gaim is a series to watch after you've gotten in the hang of rider.

But there are people who don't care about Showa. Then some people said start with Kuuga, because Kuuga is awesome and defined the modern Kamen Rider. But if you don't like that one? Ehh... Just watch whatever you want to. I started with Gaim and watched Wizard afterwards and I'm still here. Kuuga is a great show, if you like it, keep watching. If not, pick what looks promising to you. |

I found some old subs of Timeranger (by the same people that did the Hurricaneger subs I saw a while back) and I am only in case file 8. But pretty good so far.
