Tokunation.com's look at the recently released Power Rangers Super Megaforce merchandise continues with a gallery of all 5 Super Megaforce Rangers released in Wave 1 of the 5 inch figures.
Each of the Super Megaforce Rangers comes packaged with 1 Super Mega Saber and 1 Super Mega Blaster. The Red, Blue, and Green Rangers all share the same male buck but with a unique headsculpt and the Pink and Yellow Rangers both share the same female buck but with a different headsculpt. Both the male and female figures each have 17 points of articulation. That is including 4 in each arm (2 at the shoulder, elbow, and rotating wrist), 4 in each leg (2 at the hip, knee and rotating calf) and a rotating head. Due the character designs and the sculpts of the figures, articulation is hindered in certain areas of each figure. The high, stiff collars only allow the heads to turn approximately 45º left or right. The rigid, low-hanging coattails on the male Rangers restricts the range of motion that the 2 joints in the hip should allow, however, the tight skirt piece of the female rangers virtually inhibits any movement of the upper leg at all. The joints are there, but they are rendered useless, only allowing for 'stiff-legged' poses. The figures in the 5 inch Super Megaforce line continue the 'tradition' of over-exaggerating the proportions of both the male and female Rangers. The Male Megaforce rangers have the typical 'roid-rage' look with over-pronounced biceps, pectoral, abdominal, leg and back muscles. Contrastingly, the 2 female Rangers have very slim limbs, a slim waist, and an overpronounced bust. The female figures do not just look smaller, but physically are by a fair margin. They stand at approximately 4 & 5/8 inch compared to the 5 inch male rangers and are only 1 & 2/8 inches across their shoulders compared to 1 & 7/8 inches of the males. I am not asking for 'hulked-out' female rangers, but making them more in proportion to their male counterparts (or vice versa) would make them appear less gangly. Overall, the figures are what they are. With their lack of accessories, limited articulation, and odd proportions, the 5 inch figures are by no means a replacement for S.H. Figuarts, however, at their current price point of $7.99 each, you can have an entire team of Rangers for less that the cost of one Gokaiger. |

SOMEONE didn't get the last cycle. And sold the other 2 off before getting a nice group shot.
And the other Zord Armor. That's all that is out right now.

That's odd. Locally my Targets still have them for $7.99.

Been reading Twitter reports ... some Targets are back to $9.99 while others are still $7.99. Either way, these figures look to be jumping up in price, almost like it was a "Target first release exclusive" or something.
