Don't worry, it's only a matter of time before Spirits and Fuuto Tantei get localized. The Former, if we're going on them picking some of the other Manga adaptions, the latter since the Anime comes out next year.
I've heard of the Kuuga Manga, though from what I'm hearing it seems to be mixed? Well, maybe I'll check it out if I see it in a book store. Zero-One, huh. I know everyone's worried about how that gets handled, but I say people should wait for more information before jumping to conclusions. If anything, since Team Rider is banking on Zero-One's (the series) success to test the waters for future releases, let's hope it flies mostly under the radar of any of the extremely zealous groups if anyone's worried about anything being blown out of proportions. |

Forgive me, by that I meant the political crowd everyone's worried about. I wasn't interested in getting political or anything, since let's face it: With how Valkyrie is handled, the series settings and themes, and that one episode with the Rapper vs. Corrupt Politician, there's no doubt in my mind things could get ugly if it get's the wrong attention. Sorry I wasn't clear.
Zero-One may not have been the best Rider Season, but I'll welcome any Kamen Rider releases to the west any day, especially since we still have the first 12 episodes which were phenomenal, so this is one season I won't be passing on. |

The whole allergy against "politics" in their medium that comic readers have going on right now is pathetic. Comics always dealt with social and political issues, and some of these mediums like Watchmen are now celebrated as classics. But today, today it is done "wrong" of course. Bullshit, it's just dealing with themes these people are unable or unwilling to be confronted with, since they throw a screaming fit whenever a queer character dares to exist or god forbid, racism is addressed. Also, people are hypercritical when it comes to "politics" in pop culture. They get mad over stuff dealing with racism, LGBTQ+ issues, etc., but they are okay with pro-police, pro-military/pro-US imperialism and hate towards people of color (Islamic people with darker skin comes to mind) being used.

I think the reason why people get angry over politics stuff in pop culture because they view it as escapism, and they don't want to be reminded how bad the real world is. I do think many parents raise kids in a bubble and tell them not to worry about the world by playing with their toys. They are stuck with that mind set for so long, they never grow out of it. When I was a kid, I always paid attention to the news because I liked what was going on in the world. I also watch cartoons and play with toys just like any other kid.

I do get where some peoples' issues of use of political topics comes from in media, but in my experience the whole "politics in western media" phrase is one of those things that's so overused for so many different things that it's hard to tell what's actually meant. Sometimes it's about direct references to contemporary political events; sometimes it's about a character being gay; sometimes it's about topics being approached as they always have been, sometimes it's about literal propaganda, sometimes it's about doctor who being a woman for a few years... I dunno. A lot like "identity politics" it's become one of those things that's used for so many different things and whose meaning is whatever the user wants it to be that it's hard to take seriously or have any real discussion with it

I really don't like thinking about politics, so since this is starting to get off topic, I'm actually very curious what kind of possibilities there are in store should Rider perform well, since Ultraman's been having some great success, we'll be able to own Kamen Rider seasons and more. And if done well, we may even get original Riders out of this in the future.

That looks like it'll be as trippy as an Inoue-driven Kuuga adaption would be.
I've heard good things about Brandon Easton, but I'm genuinely curious what the approach with Zero-One will be. |
