I see it brought up in every review of it, so I'm sure someone's already done it before. I wanna paint my CycloneJoker's Cyclone joints green. Every single video, forum & article mentions heating up figures to get the joints off easier, but I never see them doing this with a Figuart. Is there a different method of taking apart a Figuart's joints? Should I not even bother? Thanks in advanced!

I can't say for sure since I haven't tried, but Figuarts joints look and feel like a similar plastic used for some parts on Transformers that is infamous for not taking paint well. I'd assume that's why you never really see any Figuarts joints painted fresh from the factory. It is possible to give them some paint in the form of acrylics, since they're water based, but since joints are a high friction area, I'd assume it would chip off pretty easily.

Yeah, I've read that putting a simple light coat of clear super glue (as if there are other kinds XP) on the joint after it's been painted can keep that from happening. Of course I have no proof of this. I just worry when I hear the words "glue" & "figure" in the same sentence. Plus the idea of taking apart a Figuart is also concerning.

Yeah, I wouldn't have any idea where to start. Most figuarts' limbs are joined together with glue, so you'd have to break them apart to get at the joints, and even then a lot of the joints look like they're assembled with what appear to be tiny rivets. As far as the super glue thing, I know that many Transformers fans use Pledge with Future Floor Finish as a way to add a clear coat and tighten joints. That may prevent some chipping, but it may end up making the joints scarily tight.

You know, even without the whole paint-the-joints things, the more I look into them the less appealing Figuarts are. Seriously thinking about collecting the gimmick line instead.

For the W line? Yeah, I can understand that. I've been passing on the Figuarts Cyclone Joker for years now because part of me just KNOWS as soon as I buy it, they'll announce a renewal version now that they're doing those. I never liked how slender he was, either. Now that Figuarts has sort of hit its stride, the awkward proportions on older figures stand out like crazy. Thanks to the Dekaranger guys, we know they can do two different color joints on each side, too, so that just adds to it.
If you don't mind scale, though, I hear the Model kits from the W series are pretty great! |

I remember really enjoying the TJOmega review on it. I thought it was great, but I've heard misinformation of some sort concerning the kits. Apparently, some say they're swappable like the WFC & some say they aren't. Either way I've never seen it done so I'm lead to believe they can't & the WFC'S really made me happy with their simple-but-effective gimmick & I don't wanna give that up. Thanks for all your help though! I'm glad someone actually took the time to respond to a thread I made. ^^;
