Okay. So is anything happening with Power Rider, or not? It's been long enough for some rumor to surface somewhere.

This is just speculation, of course. The working of copyrights and contracts can get weird afterall. |

Some random rumblings of Saban setting up a second studio in New Zealand. No confirmation either way though.

I personally think Blade Raider has the right idea. Less intention of use, more protection from competitors.

I think that Kamen Rider OOO would be a good place to start if Saban were to do Kamen Rider with Double coming in second.
Why OOO you may ask? Firstly, the O medals could be a type of Power Coins (PR reference) that Ninjor created if a secondary evil ever needed to be fought on Earth and the Rangers couldn't handle it while fighting another enemy. Heck, there are even Ptera, Tricera and Tyranno Core medals so they could just explain that the were copies of the original Power Coins that Ninjor created that could be given to the MMPR team to be used again if Zedd or the Machine Empire comes back. Secondly, the villains could pass off as aliens (another MMPR refrence that ties this back to the PR universe). Now I know any sort of villain in any toku could qualify as an alien if adapted right but I think the Greeed are a good fit for this classification compared other "aliens" in the Power Rangers universe. Why? Because they can manipulate Core medals and Cell medals. Now if we go along with my already established idea of Core medals = Power coins, all of the people in the PR universe need to use some sort of machine in order to utilize the power coins. So by having these beings be able to mess around with these Power sources, it screams something out of this world that Zordon / Ninjor did not expecting when finding/ creating these secondary powers. Thirdly is the assistance of man-made machinery to the normal powers. This is a staple in the PR universe ranging from the communicators to the remote controlled Falcon Zord in season 3. OOO has a lot of man made devices to help him out. Candroids, his motorcycle that can turn into a vending machine, his sword, heck even the Secondary rider is made from Dr. Maki's technology. Probably the biggest reason why OOO is not likely for adaptation is Ankh. Now, I like Ankh, strong character with a leash over Eiji while balanced out by needing OOO in order to do much but he's in nearly every fight OOO has. He's in a lot of key shots that fights rely on in order to make sense with the flow. Granted, you can get around Ankh throwing the medals to Eiji when he's ready to change by having an American character throw the medals into the Japanese footage but still. |

Any update on the Power Rider situation yet? I'd think next year's anniversary season of Power Rangers would be a perfect time to introduce a new hero.
