Origa, the Russian born singer who sang the opening to Ghost in the Shell (And many other songs), as passed away today at the age of 44. For those of you unfamiliar with her work I'll give a few examples.
She'll be missed. Her voice was a big part of my anime-life, thoughts and prayers to her and her family during this. Rise Inner Universe |

44 is way too young to die.
I had no idea she wasn't in the best of health but I'll miss hearing her sing. I feel terrible for her family and hope they'll find strength during this upsetting time. |

Nani?!?! That is a horrible shame. I loved her voice. I have "Inner Universe" on my iPod. Oriya will be missed. She had tremendous talent. As a fellow singer, I will keep her alive in my heart and soul.

Hell, I have the entire set of soundtracks on my computer, phone, and the CDs Bandai had released in the US with the DVDs.
