What shows do you guys think were copies of the source series rather than Power Rangers series?
Two blatant ones come to mind Zeo Samurai From start to finish they were an excact copy rather than a Power Rangers adaption. (Minus the weird stuff from Bulk and Skull)

Zeo wasn't a carbon copy. If it wanted to really be a carbon copy they would relocate to Colorado and instead of teleporting with their communicator they would fly out of a mountain with fighter jets and wear military uniforms. And yeah the machine empire is pretty much the same but that won't cut it. Samurai definitely is close so I agree with you on that.

Zeo and Ohranger are... not... copies... of each other... One is a show about a military force. One is about teenagers who get stuck singing. Last edited by RyusoulRed; 10-16-2021 at 11:32 PM.. |

...In what way was Zeo a carbon copy? It's borderline nothing like Ohranger.

Are we supposed to act like it's bad if a Power Rangers series is similar to their Super Sentai counterpart? Like Time Force follows a very, very similar plot to Timeranger, but it still did its own thing.
Also, Zeo is nothing like Ohranger. I have zero idea where you got that idea. |

I agree. Time Force is close to Timeranger, yet I love both, while on the other hand Mystic Force I felt could have done more its own thing and to take the point further, in Samurai I only liked certain things because they were pretty much the same as a show I prefer, which they can't really take credit for!
It is a bit tricky to see how Zeo is like Ohranger really other than like the odd bit especially given PR still had the continuing cast too, it just sort of did some things similar and some things not but a closer adaptation would make a cool alternate universe show! |

I think the real" carbon copy" is Samurai, because... well... it's really Shinkenger episode-by-episode just moved in America. Time Force and Wild Force, even though they have similar episodes with Timeranger and Gaoranger, at least they have a different plotline that differentiate them from the Sentai counterpart (Ransik and the Alex storyline for Time Force, Cole's parents and Master Org for Wild Force. Also Cole being a jungle boy instead of a vet who can talk to animal... I think it makes more sense).

I recommend watching Super Samurai if that's what you think.

I believe quite a few series have portions that are basically lifted from Sentai; at least from my understanding. For instance, In Space and Lost Galaxy are without a doubt very different shows from Megaranger and Gingaman; but they do very much lift certain plotlines and arcs like the Nezirangers and Black Knight almost wholly.
