Sorry to bump, but on my fanmade team Power Rangers Music Force on Power Rangers Fanon Wiki, I did come up with a team featuring a gay Ranger. Andrew Bennington is the Black Music Ranger representing heavy metal music, and he hates the color pink. In fact, he sometimes asks Timmy Hughes (the Pink Music Ranger representing smooth jazz) to reduce his pink attire, but Timmy always refuses since pink represents his music.

Why does heavy metal got to be represented by black and jazz should be purple. Purple is a jazzy color.
Gah...stereotypes.... |

BTW, if you wondered what genres the other Rangers represented, the Red Ranger (male) represents rock, the Blue Ranger (male) represents R&B, the Yellow Ranger (female) represents pop, and the Brown Ranger (female) represents country. |

i would think pink would be more of a pop color, but the others (with purple as jazz and gun metal as heavy rock) seem pretty spot on.
No love for electronica/techno/dance music huh? *Shakes head* tisk, tisk, tisk.... |

People generally associate pink with pop music because vibrant pinks pop out and are easy to see.

No, not at all. Because it is bright, in your face, and used to catch your attention; it is also overdone and lackluster in its overall appeal, yet people are still attracted to it. Just like pop music.
Instead of assuming, next time just ask. |

This is beginning to go a bit off topic now, not to mention the reason for the bump mainly seems to be advertising a fanfic.
If you want to discuss stereotyping music into colours further be my guest, but please direct it here -> Fan Fiction Discussion

Because initially it had some discussion of what it would mean for the show itself, rather than just haphazardly applying colours to things.
