I'm fairly surprised that there's some of you who were iffy on Kuroto's mannerisms. I just thought this was on course for his character, especially knowing what he does in Gorider as Kenzaki. Kuroto is in a TTFC special instead of being in the show proper so he can let loose.
Considering we don't see Thouser in the next episode and the merch being put out not having Thouser at all, I'm guessing this was it for him. Masamune probably beats down Kuroto and with his death probably curing Gai and Kuroto's words to Gai about being a president resonating with him to continue forward with his new IT company. |

Pretty neat special all around. Genm and Cronus fight, fighting over their position as Genm Corporation's presidency, while Gai watches on, inspired by their words and even some of the lessons he has learnt himself (most likely the one Aruto told him since he somewhat reiterates it here) and tells the two the secret of the presidency to which is LOVE! The two defeat each other, curing Gai of the Bugster Virus, and then reconcile with each other before fading away to the sunset and Gai bidding them farewell.
Rin and Gai go back to the MBJR base where they start to unpack, clean, and repurpose the base for their purposes to which Gai says... something about LOVE again. Also, he has a self-branded cleaning product I think. However, unknown to the two, Dan Kuroto has taken over the Ark. |

Wait, wait, you're telling me the two get to beat each other up, again, and Gai just sits on the sidelines to be the moral deliver?
I can't believe it... They did the one thing that could ruin this for me! Why does this series always make it so hard for me to like it? I really do wanna like you Zero-One, but... Now I'm sad. Well, let's hope in 2-3 years' time Toei makes an actual Thouser special. I'd like a good bookend for my favorite character out of Zero-One.

Well there's an announcement of some form on May 2nd, and given the ending of the special... well, we might not be done just yet?

I was hoping for some kind of reveal where, just like Masamune before him, Gai's father turns out to be the hidden mastermind who let everything play out before finally making his move. Gai could have figured it out by seeing how similar the Dans were to them. Maybe next special?

Remember guys. Love your employee, your workplace, and love your company. That is what it means to be president!

Capitalize on an april fools joke and make a fun series of shorts like they did with Brain?
I mean we got a neat new Humagear Secretary out of it, and a new song by Masamune's actor. I'd consider that a win. Also that fight in the second half with both Genm and Cronus just going at each other was entertaining to watch. I basically got what I figured we'd get. |

I gotta say, I kinda loved this thing. Like, it is just Yuuya Takahashi goofing off in the best way possible. 20 minutes of three extremely neurotic CEOs taking everything way too seriously, whether they're at each other's throats, or managing to find reconciliation in spite of their vastly different outlooks on life. The principle characters are all very true to themselves – and even though that may not be a good thing if you hated late-series Thouser or Genm – I thought there were some very entertaining interactions here. Genm and Cronus comically rolling back and forth as they argue was my personal favorite. This is obviously such a simple little diversion there can only be so much to say about it, but I really did enjoy that brief time. Still managing to fit in a proper arc for the story is a pretty Takahashi move, and making that character development exist in this weird ambiguous space between sincerity and farce was a perfect choice for something that obviously doesn't leave much room for a particularly deep proper arc. It's not the ultimate meeting of minds between Gai and Kuroto you might hope for, but, especially with so much extremely nostalgic Ex-Aid styling in there, I thought it was a rather pleasant return to the chronicles of everyone's favorite Game Master. The game is still forever!
