Well I was excited to post my latest Zenmarket haul here but it looks like I ran into a problem.
So I ordered a Revoltech figure from Amazon.co.jp using Zenmarket as a proxy (along with some other stuff I picked up from yahoo auctions and other Japanese shops). I had the weight and dimensions all planned out so when they gave me the shipping quote I should've known something was wrong. I paid the higher-than-expected shipping anyway and considered it my own mistake. I received the package today and found out that the Revoltech figure is actually a statue. That's why the dimensions and weight were so off. So instead of the relatively small $60 Revoltech figure I ordered, the Amazon seller sent a $15 statue which is packed into a huge box. Once a package leaves the Zenmarket warehouse, they are pretty much hands off with anything they can do. I sent them a support message but I doubt this will be resolved in a satisfactory way. So yeah, bummer. The rest of my order was fine, but this figure was the most expensive thing and the cause for the high shipping cost

Man, those old SHFs really have not aged well. Good thing they tend to be pretty cheap nowadays. I've thought about picking some up just to have representations of characters who either don't have Shinkocchou Seihou versions yet or whose Shinkocchou Seihou versions I missed out on and go for way too much on the aftermarket. Also, sorry to hear about Ankh. I've yet to buy any human form SHFs because it seems like it'd be so much easier for them to look weirdly wrong than a character in a suit

Made two Amiami orders a day apart and ended up with two packages two days in a row lol
- S.H. Figuarts Doras - Figuarts Drive Midnight Shadow Tire Change parts - Figma Madoka Kaname - Figma Homura Akemi All got second-hand. Doras I got after seeing the ZO film for the first time and really liking the character and his role. He's basically Dragonball's Cell mixed with a T-1000 it's really cool. The figure has fantastic articulation from the waist up and from the knees down, but unfortunately the suit design gets in the way around the hips so he can't really move his legs well. That said Doras is a very brick wall-type character who doesn't get very acrobatic so I'm not too bummed. Glad to add more villains to the collection. The Midnight Shadow set caps the three base sets I have for Drive. Only missing the effect parts for both this and Funky Spike now. Figma Madoka and Homura I've been waiting on for a while now. Every time they pop up on Amiami they sell immediately so I played the waiting game until I could snatch both in good condition. I assume they're selling quick nowadays given the ten year anniversary, but I'm just glad to finally have all five main characters now.

Ooh, nice! I have Homura and she's great. Reminds me of good old times of Figma. I need to pick up a Madoka soon, too.

What are the current opinions of Figma figures these days?
I've been looking at a few but haven't handled any since like 2009. Is the quality still good?

Stuff like their SSSS.Gridman and My Hero Academia releases are good examples. They look good and pose extremely well.

Really, the only question is if you're willing to stomach the price. Tho, some figma figures do lower in the aftermarket, so if you're in the secondary markets, it won't be too bad. It's only really a tough decision to buy a Figma when you're pre-ordering it. And if the figure is from Fate, heh. Secondary markets on those are atrocious but Fate figures tend to be the best releases, too. |

I picked up a few of these curious gashapon toys called Capsule Stand Mk-1
It's basically a tiny stand made of configurable pieces. Gashapon toys are some of my favorite so I put 3 in my zenmarket order. You actually get two sets per ball. I now have 6 of these things. They are pretty awesome and work perfectly to display tiny gashapon toys.
