I feel that Utsunomiya gets too much blame. Gokaiger and Toqger were both quite episodic but had the heroes and villains with their own goals and narratives. Komura's heroes tend to have the motivation of *solve whatever the MOTW is doing* and nothing else, and the villains that Komura writes consistently have the goal of *destroy or attack random cities.* Both Zyuohger and LuPat had gigantic pacing issues with little to no proper attention to the protagonists or antagonists (not to mention creating the single most Gary-Stuish character that I have ever seen in fiction). Add Shirakura, and it seems like it's probably going to be like Zi-O, but worse.
I sincerely hope I am proven incredibly wrong though. I guess we will have to wait and see. |

So will these 4 Mecha members combine then? Guessing Red and Yellow become the arms, giving the hinged on the feet and visible black boxes (hands?).
Curious to see how they handle it, but looking forward to a decent bit of character writing hopefully! |

The sheer uniqueness of all this is having me very intrigued. They gotta be really careful of how much they reveal from now until March. I hope they don't over-reveal things and leave some stuff for the show.

I'm not holding LvP against the writer. The show's core concept basically hamstrung the story structure, and LvP is one of the extremely rare Sentai shows with a memorable, absolutely-terrific ending; the last couple nearly made up for the padding that had come before.

I also think holding LvP against anyone is a bit harsh considering that series was also a vastly different approach to Sentai. Kinks were inevitable. And despite some obvious mis-steps the lead-up to the end game really was just fantastic.

According to this, One of the highlights of the series is seeing the four robotic life-size lifeforms squaring off against life-sized enemies – a new novel take on the usual mecha fights in Super Sentai history. They will also have the ability to engage in giant battles as they are.

They combine, just two make one robot, just like Land and Sky Mage in Kiramaiger.
